Unresolved Trek trailer questions

RedSpar

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
-This Enterprise looks a whole hell of a lot bigger (from the drydock shot) than the original, is it?

-Is that the shuttlebay in the clip? 'Cause if it is, it is HUGE

-What are those goofy red things all over the different consoles on the bridge?

-Is the 'cop' a robot, android or guy in a suit?

-Does the Vette use a internal combustion engine? (doesn't sound like it)

-Looks like the shuttles are armed with phasers, or are those fighters?

-Who's making sexy time there in the shadows?

-It doesn't look bigger to me, just different.
- I don't think so, that port is land or Station based.
- missed them...
- I think it is a humun only in lots of protective coverings.
- agreed with you.
- *shrugs*
- Kirk and Uhurh.

I thought I read somewhere that JJ intended the Enterprise to be bigger than the original.. Bridge and all

There have been claims to that effect, based upon one assumption or another, but I don't think I've ever seen it verified, and I don't remember Abrams or anyone connected with the production ever saying so.

It's obviously one of the first Soong androids...

Because why wouldn't it be? They're EVERYWHERE!

I'm thinking the cop is just wearing some Iron Man-style mask that displays all kinds of readouts and info inside.

Although I wouldn't be horribly upset if it turns out to be an android. If they can build giant starships and develop warp drive and transporter technology in that time, surely they'd be able to create an android cop.

Maybe it's B4 before he was dismandled and thrown for Picard to find.

As a matter of fact maybe Nero works for Shinzon and goes back in time to steal B4 aka the cop and take him to be cut to pieces and dropped on that planet.

Got an extra one for the list:

- What are the huge structures in the distance while Kirk is riding through the midwest?

My first impressions were either that they were simply buildings (odd to see towers of that size just sitting out on the prairie, though) or were maybe mass-farming technology of some kind. Now I'm thinking that, since it appears that the Enterprise is being constructed there, they're actually part of the shipyards. Any thoughts?

Pretty sure that's Uhura and Kirk getting busy there - the guy's profile looks like Pine, and it's the same set where we see Uhura stripping off earlier (look at the divider/screen beyond the bed).

What are those things that stick up above the helm/nav consoles? Desk lamps?

Why is one of the shots of Spock reversed??

Who can get a 300 year old car to run anyway??

Deffo a starship construction facility. It's mindblowing - chimney's - smoke - darkness.

This is going to be immense.

I do hope that cop is a robot. One of the few things I didn't like about Trek is the lack robots. You'd think in the 23rd century that robots would be pretty prevalent.

You know, it's even possible - if the rationalization would make people more comfortable - that the Corvette is a replica. There are people now who build and sail replica ships based on designs from hundreds of years ago.

I don't see why it would have to be a replica. Kirk Sr. was probably a collector.

I imagine he was pissed when Robocop took little Jimmy home.

It almost looked like a man made quarry. Who knows what Iowa could look like in the 23rd century after WWIII and global warming.
