Unreliable CBS shows for recording

I like crime dramas. That is pretty much the entire CBS line up. It seems that every show I record on CBS gets messed up with either the beginning or the end chopped out because of some pre-emption. I try watching the Unit. An episode about a hijacking. The first part of the recording is a huge chunk of Cold Case, so I see hardly anything of the Unit(yeah, I know it sounds funny. I'm complaining that I couldn't see all of CBS' Unit).

When I tried watching CSI NY, the season premiere, Criminal Minds' ending was on the beginning, but the end of CSI NY was gone. All my other shows on different channels seem to record fine.

I was having similar problems w/my dvr-so I set the record settings for 1 minute before and 2 minutes after the hour-no more problem.

This is from CBS pre-emptions. I would have to set it for 40 minutes before and after.

The last two episodes of NCIS on HD here in Chicago (Comcast) had bad audio tracks in the first 15-20 minutes for some reason.

So set it for 40 minutes after. Usually if I suspect such problems I just hit record on the show and the show after it. If it's interrupted you have it, if not delete the other show.

On Sundays, football over runs can push back the primetime schedule. So keep in mind that CBS and Fox alternate weeks showing double headers-this week it was CBS' turn to run 2 games, next weekend, it's Fox.
And the Wednesday delay was due to a news interruption. Blame Bush. ;)
