I wouldn't want that either, the absurdity is what makes it work. Even the trial was great with Jon Ham singing Purple People Eater claiming it was a gospel song.

Yeah, that's what I was implying above, I mean I don't want them to start cursing a lot, or go super dark. But i'd love for Tina Fey to at least play with the premise a little more since she has a little more room now.
I also didn't mean to suggest that she could do anything with the show on Netflix that would make it funnier than the "for broadcast" First Season.

I've read her bio in the past year and it certainly feels like she's not the type to flagrantly add sex & violence & cursing & stuff outside the context of this show. Additionally, they've had time to ascertain what works for the formula and I think they generally have a winner here, so they'll plow forward as-is. Or I'd hope.

Decided to do a rewatch of season 1 before season 2 comes out. That first episode was a heck of a start but I wish they did the entire Walter Bankston interview. That whole thing on YouTube is hilarious and it introduces the most catchiest theme song in the history of Television.
It took almost a whole year but that theme song was finally out of my head...now that you've reminded me it's back! Catchy is right!
Well, it was going to come back eventually.

Watching the episode that introduced Doctor Sydney. I hope he comes back in season 2. 
Just finished an Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt rewatch. I will admit, the trial was kind of stupid, and so was Richard, but this is still a great series. I hope we get more Gretchen in Season 2. She's so dumb but so funny at the same time. Can't wait till the 14th and 15th. Orphan Black returns on the 14th, and then Kimmy Schmidt returns the next day. It will be a fun weekend.

Saw the first two episodes last night. Great season so far. I'm glad Lillian is getting a little more attention. She was a fun but underdeveloped character last year.
Same here. In fact I don't entirely like Jacqueline's arc this year yet. Leaving out the fact that she's pretty much Jenna from 30 Rock, I found her situation with her parents kind of dumb. Give me more Lillian.
Just watched episode 4. Funniest episode of the season so far. I'm glad we got more Gretchen and loved the create your own adventure stuff. Also this episode didn't have Jacquline so that helped.
Episode 9 was one of the funniest episodes of the series. I would love a soundtrack of all the pun songs featured in this episode.
