Ultimate fate of Rasmussen's Pod?

Hi All,

I believe Berlinghoff Rasmussen made a 22nd century appearance in some Trek Lit short story or novel that I read at some point.

But what about the time pod?

When last we saw the 26th century time travel pod, it disappeared from the Enterprise-D's shuttle bay while the crew held Rasmussen in custody.

It was said to be configured to be returning to the 22nd century, where he intended to return and sell future technology for profit. But it left without him, and presumably arrived at its temporal destination without a pilot.

Has it been addressed in Trek Lit what happened to this time machine? Did it show up in the 22nd century? What happened there?

His pod's 22nd century adventures are chronicled in Indistinguishable From Magic but I don't think anything after it's disappearance from the Enterprise-D has been established.

There was the SNW story where it ended up in the 1990s and was used by a “researcher” working on the Trek shows.

Nothing about the pod's fate after returning to the 22nd century was known. Had it been addressed in a DTI book, I would've thought DTI seeing that in Picard's report and logging a message for Ducane or Jena Noi to go pick it up in the 22nd century would be the formulaic response... and if there's one thing Christopher Bennett is good at, it's writing the unexpected.
