^ I wouldn't say "long, long" time. Yeah they've been rubbish this season but it only takes a couple of world class defenders plus a couple of world class midfielders. I say 2 or 3 years should be enough if they can get Kaka. Once they get Kaka other superstars will come also.
Superstars don't guarentee success though. City seem obsessed with huge name signings rather than players who will improve the team.
Not necessarily trophies but something like top 4 finish in England is almost certain especially if they consider getting stars in all areas on the pitch not just attack. I think what people forget when the subject of
superstars is brought up is there are "superstars" in those less glamorous positions also. When Real lost Makalele it didn't matter how many Galacticos in attack they brought in.
And what happens if/when the Sheik gets bored?
Leeds?

But for this discussion I think we should assume that Sheik is in it for the long run.
Anyone else wondering how long Hughes will be in place for? To be honest if I was him I'd jump before I was pushed. He dodn't fit into the new big name structure...ironic that Eriksson probably did really!
He'll be toast by May.
