Ubuntu Hardy, Firefox, and Flash

I"m having a problem that I don't know much about . . .

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and in firefox some flash elements don't load up . . . like in the screenshot here of one of the ads here on TBBS, and even youtube videos it just comes up with a grey arrow thing . . . there's probably a setting somewhere in about:config or elsewhere that I have no idea about, but any help would be appreciated :D

[edit] it would help if I linked the screenshot

Did you install the flashblock addon for firefox? It automatically blocks flash content and gives the play button to give you the option to play it if you wish.

turns out I had 'swfdec' flash installed instead abode flash . . .
did a complete removal of it and installed 'flashplugin-nonfree' in synaptic package manager

:D

now I've spent the last hour and a half setting up cairo dock :techman:
fun stuff
