I really like the Titan! I think that it moves forward starship design as well as respects the past. Thanks for making the ship one that we can fall in love with!
Sean - good to see your design finally make print. Curious though - as good as the rendering is, why did they not make the port-side formation light red as it has been on every ship since we took to the seas?
That is the way we (Ellery and I) submitted it to them, some how the designer

Yes, very detailed. That kind of image really essentializes the ship. I still think the nacelles look a bit ungainly, but I'll be interested in see the other angles. (Am I nuts, or are those two hurricanes on either side of Mexico in the background? So much for planetary weather control...)

I think the Titan has a backup warp core in the Shatnerverse, but I seem to recall Marco saying that he didn't intend for it to have one, so I doubt it has one in its own series.
Besides, although Voyager's cutaway diagram shows a second warp core, the actual content of the episodes suggests that it didn't. In "Day of Honor," I think it was, the ship had to jettison its warp core and then had to go to some lengths to retrieve it; there was no mention of the existence of a backup, which one would assume there would have been if such a backup existed.

The only version of the Titan that Saucer seps is my I.S.S. Version (Which is not an Offical Design). I had not intended for the U.S.S. Titan to seperate. as for the extra warp core, that is something for the writters and editors to decide.
^^^ Would the Titan, then, be considered an official design even though it was never seen on screen (although mentioned)?

It is the official design for the novels, but not Cannon since she has not been seen on screen.

It is a nice cover. For a ship only cover, it is very well done. Me personally, I just prefer to see people on a cover.
I was under the understanding that CBS Paramount officially accepted the Titan design as canon... I may have misread though, just widh I could remember where...

Not as canon. No doubt Paramount Licensing (as it was at the time) approved it, as they must approve everything in their licensed tie-ins. But the makers of future shows or films are under no obligation to acknowledge it, and that's what canon means.
