Glad you got sidetracked.
I don't quite understand you people. You all have to fraggin say something about someones work and I don't know if its because its not yours or what but its stupid. Someone has to say one thing and then start another, which leads to all of this analyzing of the work and so forth. He won and thats fair enough.
^ If you're referring to the people who've taken issue with the design chosen, well, hey, it's the Internet. If people didn't bitch and moan on the Internet, there'd really be no other practical use for the thing except as a way to get free porn.

Sorry, I thought the entire point of something like this was for feedback, which also means people saying they don't like it, and hopefully being more effective by going into detailed analysis as to why they don't like it.

For the record, those of us who work on the fiction--and that includes the Titan Contest--consider thoughtfully expressed criticism a welcome part of making ourselves accessible in this fashion, and are happy to engage in such discussions.
Exactly.
"Pimp" is pretty much poking fun at tweaking the whole ship thing. Sean won the competition, it's a great design and heaping a ton of nitpicks on what's obviously going to be a work in progress for a bit takes some of the shine off the win.
Sean's a professional (checked out his site) and being in the same line of work myself, it's easy to think it all rolls off the back since that's part of the business. Still when you do something for fun and to win a competition, there's a part of you that's thrilled just to have succeeded in what you've done and it doesn't hurt to let the guy enjoy his win without the usual stuff...
Airlock placement? Frackin' airlock placement? It's for shuttles, it makes boarding more convenient, whatever, just let it go already...
Who cares what the winning design may or may not be a derivative of? A Starfleet ship that looks like a Starfleet ship in Starfleet no less, what are the odds?
It's not Defiant, it's not Voyager, it's not Enterprise and that's the point...
My two bits on that one...
For this I gave up "Pimp My Starship"?

I don't mind the Pimp My Ship Gag. It is funny and has brought a chuckle to
alot of us. Just don't and any damn spinners to the nacelles.
I accepted that my design would not be loved by everyone, heh that is part of being a trek fan. You are supposed to hate the starship design when it first comes out. I was like that with the Ent-C,Ent-D, Voyager and the Defiant. I grew to love them.
Poking fun is part of the whole industry.
To all of thoughs out there who have expressed their opinons cleanly and without ranking on every little thing. Thanks. I respect the opinons. I also agree to disagree.
I my self can't wait to see the runner ups. I entered this contest so I could see other artists work. Not to win, Yah right I wanted to win but I would of been happy for any one.
Sorry, the "Pimp" boys did that first thing! They even put some of the oversized tires on the misplaced airlocks so they'd finally have a purpose...
Maybe it's not a good time to tell you about the Holodeck Honies room they set up either...

Just a word about the airlocks. The ones on the primary hull where not designed to be the main enty to the ship That is the purpose for the airlocks on the saucer section. The ones on the main hull are for smallercraft such as worker bees and other work crews. I had in mind that while in space dock the ship would have a clamp like arm over the shuttle bay for re supply. So if a worker needed access to the interier of the ship they could get in that way. just my 2 cents.
As for the Mother of pearl on the escape pobs go for it. Plus add a pair of fuzzy dice to the main veiw screen and I need a cup holder added to the captains chair. While you're at it could you Get Tuvok an Gold Plated Idic Pin necklace.

Not to be nasty or anything, cos i absolutely adore the Titan design, but i was cruisung EAS just now and found this:

Borchune varant of the nebula, i believe (hotlink may be disabled)
It looks similar to the titan with upper module, saucer, and low-slung nacelles. Did this give you any ideas for titan?
