This is my first GIMP rendered line drawing of a starship. The Capitol Class is non-canon and is a Destroyer/Heavy Destroyer hull design. The role of the Capitol Class is escort of high value assets such as dilithium and latinum shipments as well as personnel through areas of the Federation and non-Federation that are considered ally's requiring the need of gun boat diplomacy through a show of force.
Several of the ships were released to ATAC to be refitted to serve in a support role for the Capitol Class as Long Range Artillery Destroyers and Counter-Electronics Warfare ships. The Arius Class of LRAD's have two warp cores, one for the engines and one for phasers and phaser cannon operations as well as a warp core form of directed energy attack. Both engine cores are kept separate but can be connected in the case of an emergency through power couplings and EPS conduits normally blocked off.
The Capitol Class also has a larger primary hull than most destroyers where sections of the primary hull normally used for crew of the larger ship have instead been used to assist the hauling of value assets from mining operations to increase the overall production of the facilities in question.
Hopefully once I get the initial drawings redrawn from drawings that I made of them nearly twenty years ago the new drawings will be used to create models in Blender.
