Typhon Pact

He's set the bar pretty high for himself - It's going to be hard to top the body count of Destiny. Though I doubt that will keep him from trying.

^Does anyone remember the actual body count? Was it even mentioned? Losing the Peace perhaps? For some reason the number 63 billion pops into my head, but I don't know from where. As odd as it sounds, that number actually seems kind of low considering all the planets that had their entire populations get killed off...

That's about right I think.

yeah, 63 billion is correct. but that was the entire alpha quadrant. not just the federation. how many federation citizens were killed was never mentioned i think.

63 billion does seem a little low considering the Borg left the Federation more in ruins than the Dominion, and the Jack Pack projected 900 billion casualties in the Dominion War.

well, they were full of it so i wouldn't consider them credible sources.

The Borg Invasion lasted only about 6 weeks, though, with the bulk of the devastation taking place in the final two days. Jack was projecting years forward, and on the assumption that the whole Federation would be wiped out, rather than just the swath of it eradicated by the Borg. While they devastated a considerable volume of space, it was still only a fraction of the Federation as a whole, and only seems to have encompassed a few really major population centers such as Deneva, Regulus, and Risa. The core worlds of Vulcan, Tellar, Andor(ia), and (Beta) Rigel were severely damaged, but mostly survived.

Also, Jack was somewhat prone to extremes, so he may have made assumptions that led to an unrealistic exaggeration of the projected death toll.

Well, to be fair, Bashir seconded the prediction....

Anyhow, as M said to Daniel Craig's Bond, Mr. Mack..."Quite the body count you're stacking up!"

Well, as they say. there's nothing better then a spy novel with a high body count. so for me at least, zero sum game will be a hit. dunno about the other TP books. we'll see

KRAD's still got the highest Trek Lit bodycount. the guy wiped out multiple universes in Q&A FFS!!!

Didn't know about that one .... I thought the highest bodycount was Judith and Garfield destroying the Universe in "Millennium"

Well, it unhappened, so I don't know if it counts - if those do, then Star Trek IV probably would have the highest body count of the movies.

Shar looks miserable but then knowing his people are seriously endangered could make you look like that.

But I am looking forward to see where this storyline goes.

Picard is concerned with how young his crew looks and if any of the senior staff will need to sign the intergalactic nonce-jotter.

"Shar never cries when his Captain hits him. Shar knows no-one ever comes. But, if you donate just three pounds a month, we can help make sure that Andorian-abuse stops, full-stop. Please, it's only three pounds a month...."

:guffaw:

Lock it down, there is nothing left to be said.
