Hello,
While perusing the latest Star Trek magazine, I saw that the Typhon Pact mini-series was announced. Unfortunately, it didn't have much more than the title, author and publication dates (which I believe is a monthly release beginning in October 2010), but I got the impression from my brief look that each novel dealt with a particular member race.
Would any of the authors care to put in a "shameless plug" for their entry in the series?
I wonder if the fact that each of the novels deals with a respective member race rather than the Typhon Pact as a whole reflects that political entity's growing pains analogous to the Coalition of Planets, rather than a cohesive whole, such as the Federation.
Personally, I am greatly looking forward to this series for a couple of reasons. First, it appears that it may be the "mirror - image" foil that the Dominion was supposed to have originally represented (as I understand it, the Dominion was supposed to be a large collection of races similar to the Federation, but I could be wrong).
Secondly, some of my personal favorite authors are penning some of the novels, including David Mack and David R. George.(Sorry, but those are the only two I remember clearly, though I think Dayton Ward was another).
All in all, this series is shaping up to be quite the Trek event!
Best,
Henry Lopez
