Typhon Pact countdown

I'm envious. Apparently, my copy won't ship until November 22nd, which I think was the original release date for the UK. Usually, amazon is faster an ships the book when it's available in the US and others in Germany seem to already have gotten it.

You're not alone. I pre-ordered it along with all other Star Trek books listed at that time way back in last December, but didn't get one of the US Release date copies either.

Weird. It always used to work, but I haven't ordered a newly published Trek book in a while so maybe they changed their ways.

Well, amazon sped things up considerably and so it was in the mail today. The mailman managed to squeeze the whole package into my mailbox. Good thing there weren't any CDs in there.

Good book so far. I missed the setup book, I'll have to pick it up down the road. I usually buy two or three ebooks a month, mostly trek ones, and usually one old trek book and one new one.

I haven't had the chance to order my Kindle yet, but I've been running Kindle app on my Blackberry and my UMPC with no probs.

It looks like us Canadian Kobo customers might have a problem. Chapters (the only real booksellers in the country) have it, but not online. Kobo, their partner, doesn't show it, but Amazon does.

Any Canadians had luck buying from B+N, or S+S direct?

Actually sorry I was wrong on that. The Chapters web page lists it as being in stock for online order, but the store stock has nothing in the whole city I live in

I still can't find it. I may have to use Amazon at this point as I'm tired of waiting. I've held off on reading anything until I get this since I want to read it now.

S&S was a bust. I bought the ePub from them but couldn't download it. After emailing them and waiting a couple of days they responded that they were having problems with the ePub file and refunded my purchase. I also tried "Booksonboard" but got a message that it was not available in Canada. I can't understand that since the paperback can be had by ordering it. I ended up purchasing it for the Kindel app on my iPod touch, not the most optimum reading experience but the only choice I had.

The release of this book has been a complete mess in my opinion. More than a week after the publish date and it still can't be had in Canada unless you order it or get it for the Kindle. I certainly hope the other Typhon Pact books don't follow a similar pattern.

So I'm assuming you guys up there must get the books the same day we do in the US?

Normally yes but apparently not in this case. They are only now appearing on store shelves and still no ebook version.

Recived an email last night that my book is posted and should arrive within three days.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!

(All right, I'll calm down. I just haven't been this excited about a book since The Calling.)

I just got the newest issue of Star Trek Magazine, and.... to my pleasant surprise, it has an excerpt from Rough Beasts of Empire.
