Two more from me

darkwing_duck1

Vice Admiral
I know I'm not much by the standards around here, being a mere mesh/image-basher basically, but I do put work and thought into my designs. Many thanks to the people who HAVE left a reaction, even a negative one...for the rest of you, is there ANYTHING you could say, or am I wasting everybody's time by posting this stuff?

My latest two, parts by Vance, designs by me:

Definitely keep posting your stuff. You never know who you may inspire. I, for 1, love TOS designs and can't get enough.

Reminds me somewhat of the Botany Bay.

It's the underslung "cargo pods", and cargo storage is exactly what they are for on that ship. The class is the Lewis class (named after Merriweather Lewis), a small scout design commor prior to the introduction of the Hermes class. (More details available on request).

The I-series station is the result of the rapid expansion of the Federation in the mid 23rd century. As the size of the Treaty Zone grew almost exponentially, the need for centralized monitoring of commercial spacelanes, as well as coordinating the passage of subspace message traffic resulted in the need for a great many new medium-sized space stations. The quickest and "cheapest" method of filling the need was to recondition and combine old primary hulls from "scrapped" and "mothballed" starships and attatch them to engineering pods and consumable storage tanks. The resulting station could be outfitted with weapons and used as an orbital defense station, or multiple antennaes for spacelane monitoring and message relay. A few were outfitted as scientific laboratories and observatories.

The basic design of the I-series became the basis for the latter R-series of deep space stations, typified by the infamous Regula-One station in the Mutara sector.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who's replied so far! Comments/criticisms always accepted ! :)

I like it. And do not put yourself down for not being as "professional" as some others. We do this because we love it, and what other people think of it is none of our business.

I appreciate the sentiment, Skai...it's just hard to see 1000+ "reads" and only get 4-5 replies (about typical for my threads).

This all may be moot soon anyways, as someone has abused Vance's good nature and offices and he may be withdrawing his parts pages from use...if he does, this thread will obviously come down, and I'm back to doing Orion stuff in DOGA...

No no, those are fine. (The point was that NEW toolkits won't be going up, I'm not taking down what's there.)

As for the works, I do like the freighter, it's a nice hodge-podge of parts there that, none-the-less, actually seem to work in that arrangement. I can easily see that as a Pike-era heavy freighter.

Add some impulse engines and I think you have a movable fortress for the first one!
