Figures - they use clips from GEN and ENT:IaMD on the previews but don't have them in the marathon.

This should please the Enterprise lovers. First Contact was the most recent hit movie, so it appears their goal is to "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative". :rommie:

Its to bad they are not playing the two part episode with Spock "Unification" since it sort of ties in with the new movie.

I know I asked this before -- but why no TOS on sci-fi....what they don't have the rights or something? Wouldn't it make sense to run some TOS or key episodes as FALCOR stated above?

I dont think they own the rights to air TOS. I wonder who does own the rights? I know for awhile TOS was playing on TVland but it does not air on that channel anymore I dont think. Seems like whoever does own the rights to air TOS is missing out on a chance to have a marathon of their own with the new movie coming out!

TVland still airs it at like 5am on Sunday mornings. So no basically they're not airing it since it's in a ridiculous time slot. They did start out airing it at 11, that lasted LITERALLY a few days...moved it to 12, again after a few days...i'm not kidding here they moved it to 1...they moved it so often that the online tv guide couldn't keep up and they said they moved it because of ratings. How can it establish a following if you move it around like that? I can't stand that station!

TVLand currently owns the rights to air Star Trek (1966) while Trek Remastered is syndicated. Some local network affiliates have been allowed to buy rights to show the classic series, however, Sci-Fi owns the exclusive cable rights.

I know copyright problems and all, but this would have been a lot more exciting if it was TOS. At the very least, it's a fairly random list of episodes.

Ya it does seem like a pretty random list of episodes. Still I watched it for a bit yesterday and enjoyed having it on in the background while working on the computer! There were a bunch of trivia questions during the breaks promoting the new movie so that was a good thing too!
