Spoilers Two big characters return for anniversary.

Chibnall was terrible at promoting the show but should that really be his job? He clearly didn't relish being in the public eye but I don't see why someone else couldn't have fulfilled that role in his stead? I couldn't even name the people running many of the shows I watch, let alone tell you if they're actively promoting them, yet because RTD and Moffat were good at this it's become an accepted part of the role.

It should be somebody's. Weird, pointless, nonsense gimmicks like deleting the show's social media accounts to somehow build buzz for "Flux"? It didn't even have anything to do with anything! It would at least make sense if they'd done something like that to promote Season 7's "The Doctor in Hiding" arc, though it still would've been a bad idea.

Oh absolutely, and if Chibnall made the conscious decision to not have someone do PR for the show that is a huge failing. You're right, it should be someone's job, I just don't think it necessarily has to be the showrunner.

The flipside of this of course is that Chibnall was very good at keeping things under wraps. The reveal of Jo Martin as the Doctor is a surprise up there with Coleman suddenly appearing in Asylum of the Daleks. It's just that too often Chibnall was too good at keeping secrets!

It worked well for his first season (though I imagine the DWM team were pulling their hair out). But not so well after.

More big action scenes being shot tonight, but the security people are being quite zealous in telling people not to take photos or shoot video.

The one thing that's certain, is that (incredibly) Beep the Meep and the Wrath Warriors really are in it.

If true, that certainly takes me back to the mid 80s, during the height of the PBS run. Marvel Comics decided to adapt (and, sigh, colorize) a selection of strips original published in the Doctor Who weekly (later, DW monthly), and, as was noted earlier, Beep the Meep was the story they selected to debut the Stateside reprints.

And, as grainy as that shot is, it does look a lot like a Wrath Warrior! I still grin at the notion the Wrath medical specialists considered the Doctor's tongue woefully ineffectual!

Is it cynical to think that part of the reason for having him on the show is to get some of that sweet, sweet Baby Yoda merchandising money?

As someone that came to the strips long after beep the meep, it’s safe to say it’s not filling me with great joy. It’s a little… cheesy. But perhaps that is the point.

They're setting up in Bristol today for a big shoot tomorrow with lots of extras, and presumably Neil Patrick Harris. From the debris they've brought with them it looks like a plane is going to crash into an office building in 'London'.
