Twentieth Anniversary DS9 Book by DRG III

^ I think one possible complication is that the year is already quite full with TOS books, which make sense given the new feature film release. But hey, we don't know the whole schedule yet.

With the general level of chaos over in New Frontier you'd think the Typhon Pact would be interested. Why not do a NF Pact book without Peter David looking at the Pact getting involved out there?

Someone would have to pitch it. PAD has seemingly not yet been invited to pitch a new/next NF instalment - hence the stalemate.

I left out Enterprise and New Frontier because they both seem to be stuck in limbo right now. I'd have to think about an author or authors I'd like to see tackle Enterprise's ongoing story.

I'd like to see other authors write Enterprise novels.I enjoyed reading the books I have but ti would be nice to see new books being written during the tv series or during or shortly after Earth?ROmulan wars.

I wouldn't hold my breath for more Enterprise - in Germany, Cult Cross had to discontinue their translations because sales were SO bad they endangered the entire Trek line. In the United States, the planned Romulan War trilogy was hastily cut down to a duology after the first installment was published.

I think the future of ENT lies in flashbacks and crossovers, like Destiny and Indistinguishable From Magic (which was more about Next Gen's Rassmussen character, the Intrepid was just an excuse to involve him in the story and since he's from the era, we got a glimpse at 22nd century Earth and Starfleet's post-war actions)

Excellent news! I doubt that it will be set during the "Four Lost Years", given how much was set up for DS9 in Plagues of Night and Raise the Dawn.

Not sure anyone is expecting the whole thing to be set there, but if Kira is going to appear, those missing years are an important part of her backstory.

Flashbacks! Flashbacks! Flashbacks!

While I tend to agree with this, I daresay that what Kirsten is doing with Voyager is beyond awesome. I'm eagerly awaiting the latest novel to arrive so I can dig into it wholeheartedly.

That said, I do believe that with the right editor managing a series, various authors can work considerable magic. Look at the coolness that was Star Trek: Vanguard. I totally loved that series and I'm not really into the Original Series all that much. I'd love to see Christopher, David, James, Kirsten, Michael, Keith, Peter and DRGIII all working on the Typhon Pact. It would be totally intense! I would be waiting each month for the books to download on my iPad...

Well I'd like to see Christie Golden come back into the Voyager fold. Maybe she could write some books that would fill in some more of the missing time from "Spirit Walk Book 2" to "Full Circle/Unworthy".

But, as far as Enterprise is concerned, I think it's dead at this point. The Romulan War duology kind of shut the door on anything past that. But if any more books come out, hopefully they are set somewhere in Seasons 1, 2 and 4 (we saw how well a book set in the 3rd season worked, which wasn't too well).

But with DRGIII's new DS9 book, considering that he's just getting the contractual details worked out now, hopefully he has enough time to write a good story; a 20th anniversary story carry's a different type of weight than his other stories.

I didn't think there was that much time between the Voyager relaunch 1.0 and 2.0. Didn't we get pretty much everything worthwhile from the time frame in Full Circle?

Well, no; Full Circle's first part does pick up pretty soon after Spirit Walk leaves off, but then once the loose ends are tied off, it jumps forward two and a third years to the timeframe of Destiny and there are only a few flashbacks set in the intervening period.

But it was made pretty clear that not all that much happened during that period. Just some extremely boring survey missions.

When has a survey mission ever been "boring" to the featured crew?

But I also recall that aside from examine Janeway and Chakotay's relationship, not much was said about Voyager's missions.

Didnt Starfleet make a specific effort to keep them tucked away in quiet corner during that period? Or am I misremembering?

I believe that was Janeway's influence. She was trying to keep them as safe as she was able.
