It's been more than 10 years since DVDs appeared on the market and almost every science fiction or supernatural TV series has been completely released on DVD. There are a few exceptions such as Animorphs, Earth: Final Conflict, The Six Million Dollar Man, Seaquest DSV and Sliders.
The same isn't true for the 'mundane' TV series. There are many shows where less than half of the show's episodes are available on DVD, sometimes only the first season. And there are many shows that are entirely unavaliable on DVD, forcing fans to download them illegally. Even The Simpsons, one of the most popular shows of all time, only has its first 11 seasons on DVD. Happy Days has the first 4 seasons on DVD. Law & Order has the first 8 seasons plus the 14th season on DVD. I don't get it. If a show is so popular that it can last more than 10 years then why can't it get a decent DVD release.
Is it the company's fault or the fans' fault for not buying enough DVDs? Are the fans of mundane shows simply not interested in watching their favorite shows more than once? Are sci-fi fans the only kind of fans that really care?
What do you guys think?
I would like to see, The Six Million Dollar Man,
