Surely no miscasting beats John Wayne as Ghengis Khan? Well, apart from maybe John Wayne as a Roman Centurion... J Allen, you win!

Likely not. But I'm still casting my vote for DeVario, because that casting decision destroyed my favorite movie series.

I'm surprised there was no Keanu Reeves from Dracula avatars. That attempt at an English accent still gives me the shivers.

Moreso than an Americanized, Cowboy'ed Genghis Khan!

It looks something like this:

Some other examples of great miscasting that come to mind:

Shelley Long as a prostitute in "Night Shift".

Patty Duke as a pill-popping desperate housewife in "Valley of the Dolls".

Jack Palance as Fidel Castro in "Che!"

Robby Benson as a Chicano gang member in "Walk Proud".

Ironic that a great movie series about a family "business" can be ruined by one's very own flesh and blood. DeVario it is. :bolian:

The most woefully miscast actor of the bunch is John Wayne as Genghis Khan. But I voted for Tuln because I like the comic timing of his avatar. Also, The Da Vinci Code was the movie that proved me wrong and showed me that Tom Hanks CAN suck in something. (Hell, I even thought he was decent in The Bonfire of the Vanities.)

Thanks for the vote! :) I appreciate it!

Apparently, not only was Wayne grossly miscast, but the movie was a killer too.

It was shot in Utah, only 137 miles away from a US military nuclear testing site. Of the films cast and crew of 220, 91 developed cancer in some form and 46 died from it - although Wayne's own death from Cancer probably had more to do with his six packs a day habit.

Hooray! I won!
I knew that old screencap would come in handy some day, and that day...is today!

Thank you for letting me participate! :D
