TV & Media Avatar Contest - We've Seen You Before.

Gepard

Vice Admiral

So we all know actors end up in multiple roles on TV, be they background extras from Central Casting or major stars who jump ship for a new show. How many have seen "That Guy" whom we all know we've seen before, we just can't remember where?

So this week's avatar contest is to honor those who've played multiple characters, or multiple parts either on the same show or across different shows. Standard rules apply, must be from "general" TV, not SF or fantasy, images must be 140X140 or less, under 78kB, yadda yadda yadda.

Go!

The ubiquitous Mr. James Hong:

It would be easier to say what he HASN'T been in. To date, he's had 450 roles, and is still working. He played three different roles on "Tour of Duty," three different roles in "MaGyver," two different roles on "The A-Team," and EIGHT different roles in "Kung Fu." The man is EVERYWHERE.

He's still acting, isn't he? Usually playing the elderly leader of a strong Asian crime family? :)

I know there are dozens of guys like this that trip my radar whenever I see them. My problem is, I have to see them to say, "Hey, that guy's in just EVERYTHING!!!" I'll put my thinking cap on and keep my eyes open for the next few days to see if I think of anybody really good.

Okay, I'll start with Rob LaBelle:

Dude shows up in EVERYTHING. Usually wearing geeky glasses.

Jerry Orbach!

Before he was Lennie Briscoe on Law & Order, he played defense attorney Frank Lehrman on Law & Order. After becomin' Lennie Briscoe, Orbach crossed over into Homicide: Life on the Street, Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, Exile and was a lead in the spin-off Trial by Jury.

William Mapother from MI2, Swordfish, CSI, Lost, Almost Famous, CSI: Miami, L&O:SVU, Navy NCIS and Minority Report

"Now where have I seen that Nazi before...?"

Thomas Kretschmann in: Stalingrad, U-571, The Pianist, Downfall, and Valkyrie. Too bad I couldn't find a decent Valkyrie shot.

Bradford Meade?
Caleb Nichol?
Charles Widmore?
Mitch Bryce?
Jim Prescott?

Why it's TV's Jim Robinson himself, Alan Dale!

Praetor Neral, having undergone surgery to resemble a human, prepares for his invasion of Earth.

or is it the doomed Tellus colony leader from S:A&B?

Good theme, I've always liked keeping track of character actors. James Hong was an inspired choice! It was tough to narrow down, but here is a guy who seemed to be all over TV when I was a kid: Allan Melvin. He died about a year ago.
