Given we’ve had cops it seems only fair to have robbers.

Please note, not just criminals, the avatars must feature thieves in some way shape or form. Burglars, bank robbers, pick pockets…it’s quite a wide scope there and I’ll include fantasy and sci-fi, but these have to be people intent on stealing (so no con artists I’m afraid)

usual rules apply. I’ll try and get a poll up by the end of the week. Good luck!

Is Robin Hood OK?

Alright, my two entries won't get a lot of votes (if any), but I have a deep relationship with both of them, which I'm going to explain.

First off, from the classic German film "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart" ("The Spessart Inn'). It is the story of Comtesse Franziska von Sandau, daughter of a miserly Count, who is only saved from being abducted by the famous band of the Spessart Bandits because a young journeyman changes clothes with her and takes her place among the oblivious robbers, while Franziska escapes to her father's castle. The miserly Count refuses to pay the ransom for the young man, so Franziska, in the journeyman's clothes, goes back to the inn to pretend wanting to join the bandits in order to help her captured friends and/or get her father to pay the ransom.

This was one of the first films I ever saw, and at the age of four years old, I considered it my favorite film. Not even able to remember the proper title, I simply called it "Der mit den Räubern" ("The one with the bandits").

The second one, from the anime series "Cat's Eye", about three sisters, Hitomi, Rui and Ai, who secretly are a team of cat burglars under Hitomi's leadership in her identity as Cat's Eye, stealing pieces of art created by their father who disappeared years ago. Hunting the trio is the police detective Toshio, who is oblivious to his fiancee Hitomi's double life, and in true melodramatic fashion, he swore an oath to only marry Hitomi once he's proven himself worthy by catching Cat's Eye.

For a year or two when I was about twelve, thirteen, I was totally bonkers for this show. I can't even say specifcally what it was. Then, it went off the air, and I moved on. Some time ago, though, I caught the German intro on YouTube:

The nostalgia hit me so hard, hearing that song again actually brought tears to my eyes (and watching it again just now, it happened again).

So, yeah, those are my two entries, and though they probably won't get a lot of votes, I simply have to go with these two.
