I say don't allow it. Because of that movie and those comic books but mainly because @auntiehill's avatar is better than mine. 
^ So just to clarify, then, does that mean whatever we enter can have no follow-ups of any form? (I would have thought Firefly was OK based on the criteria in the OP.)
I was originally okay with Firefly, but some good points were brought up. A movie follow-up with the same cast and crew is different than a comic book or novel.
^ One of the ideas I was considering was BSG: TOS, since it only had one season. But it had a spin-off, and then a reboot as well. So I'm thinking it probably doesn't count either. I'll just go with something else.

I think "firefly" should qualify. It was one and done. A movie doesn't bring it back for more, it's just a movie. The initial post didn't say shows cancelled after one season unless it had a movie.
I don't know, it's got some pretty hefty competition, including "Hail Honey I'm Home", a sitcom about Hitler and his wife that so offend the British -- since it was a UK show (what a terrible idea, too) that even though they made eight episodes, only one aired after the backlash.

Ah good point, though unlike Firefly the movie came first, and the TV series wasn't a continuation. I'm happy to pull it and do have a fallback position!
