Okay, maybe the thread title is a little misleading, but that's what you get when I'm trying to be clever. This has nothing to do with Star Wars, but with first shots, namely the first shot of a movie.

And so to make it clear, I mean the first shot of the actual movie, in case the credits sequence is not integrated into the narrative. So, for instance, the first shot of a Bond movie wouldn't be the Gun Barrel Sequence, but the shot immediately following it. And if you wanna do Star Wars, the opening crawl doesn't count, either.

I'll allow SF/F, but don't forget the usual rules, no bigger than 200x200 pixels and/or 1 Mb data (thought I'd highlight that, since this has been an issue in recent contests), and if your favorite movie starts with a shot that's not safe for work, tough, choose something else.

Let's give three entries per user.

Here are mine:

(Not sure if this one counts, since the opening credits played during this sequence. Let me know.)
That's okay. As I said in the opening post, if the credits play over footage of the actual film's narrative (as opposed to, say, the random space with credit titles of most Star Trek movies, or the animated stylized credits sequence of "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"), then the first shot in that counts.
