In honor of the memory of my beloved "@Midnight" that ended this Friday, this week's contest is all about game shows---any game show that's aired on television, with points, a host, contestants, etc. It can be a classic, a remake of a classic, a new show, an old show--anything in-studio--no "reality" shows like "Survivor," please. And keep it work-safe---you know who you are.

So, Match Game, Family Feud, Jeopardy, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Hollywood Squares, Password, etc. Step up and hit the buzzer!

Moving on, this topic is a bit tricky for us international players, because while we obviously have shows like Family Feud, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, we have our own versions of them. So, I might enter Jeopardy, but do I use an image of the German version hosted by Frank Elstner, or do I use the US version with a host I know less than the SNL parody on him?

@midnight was one of the few game shows I watched in the original form. The only other show I watch in its original version that could be defined as a game show in a broader sense (at least, a UK poll called it the second best new game show of 2011) is this:

And, while it doesn't have points, it's in a studio, has a host, as well as contestants with the goal to win something. I therefore hope it qualifies.

Well again I have little knowledge of US gameshows so I'll go with an old favourite from my childhood. 3-2-1, a show memorable only for three things; the host Ted Roger's dextrous 3-2-1 hand gesture that many a schoolchild flipped so it was offensive, ridiculously complex riddles that no one could really get their head around, and of course the booby prize/show mascot, Dusty Bin!

It made sense in the 80s.
