Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

The beginning of the NETWORK TV season is almost upon us with the return of olden goldies like CSI, HOUSE, LAW & ORDER, E.R, LOST and many more but they will be joined by the new kids on the block, which am sure will see the normal high rate of casualties before the season is up come May 2009.

So here's a few questions for you about the upcoming season on TV...

(Try to name just one show for the fall and the same for mid-season)

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?

3. What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ?

4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season?

6. The 3 most likely established shows to be cancelled this season?

7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network?

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?

Not much, really. Stargate: Universe, Caprica, that's about it.

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?

It will be good to see 24, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes and Lost back.

4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?

No, but Smallville is on thin ice. I already gave up the CSI's and ER last year.

Re: Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

New Shows - Caprica, Dollhouse, Virtuality, Revolution

Established Shows - House, Supernatural, Kyle XY, Grey's Anatomy

Network order - CBS, Fox, ABC, NBC, CW

old - Lost, Galactica, Heroes, 24

new - Fringe, maybe Dollhouse - I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into buffy.

Re: Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

New Shows - Caprica, Dollhouse, Virtuality, Revolution

Check. Add Stargate Universe to the list, but I'm bailing if it is as bad as I'm expecting.

For established shows, I'll be watching 24 season seven, Boston Legal season five, and Battlestar Galactica season 4.5.

Re: Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?

No new show seems interesting so far.

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?

ER, then Law & Order. I don't think any shows I watch premiere after the fall. Ninja Warrior, perhaps, but I can't watch G4 anymore.

I'm also looking forward to Terminator, House, Smallville, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

3. What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ?

I care bout most new shows essentially equally little, but would like to see 90210 quickly canceled.

4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?

No, I still watch all of them intermittently.

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season?

I don't know, but hope that 90210 will be among the first.

6. The 3 most likely established shows to be cancelled this season?

ER, Stargate: Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica.

7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network?

CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC, and CW. Had I my druthers, those positions would be reversed.

Re: Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season? The Mentalist. 90210 is a close second. I was a fan of the original and this new one stars Shenae Grimes who I've been watching on a number of other shows. Shannen Doherty will also be in a few episodes, so I'm looking forward to that too.

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season? Lost.

3. What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ? I don't know. I never cared enough to find out.

4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons? I don't know, but it's a possibility.

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season? It wouldn't surprise me if 90210 and Knight Rider got the axe.

6. The 3 most likely established shows to be cancelled this season? I don't know what dying shows they're bringing back because I don't watch 'em, but I'll go with Greek and Gossip Girl.

7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network? Can't answer this one.

Overall view: the writers' strike seems to have impacted the fall season badly enough that this is a pretty weak premiere season. There are a couple of shows I'm hopeful about, and quite a few I'll check out without having any expectations for them, but it still seems pretty paltry. Nothing I'm really jumping up and down about.

None of my answers include Showtime or HBO shows, since I see those on DVD.

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?
Fall - My Own Worst Enemy
Midseason - Harper's Island (also curious about Dollhouse)
Not sure where it fits on the calendar - Caprica, and if it's still on the menu, which I hope it is, Revolution

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?
Fall - Heroes and Pushing Daisies
Midseason - Lost

3. What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ?
Any reality TV/cop/lawuyer show or sitcom.
4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?
Not yet. 24 needs to prove itself, though.

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season?
There are so many shows that are likely to be quickly cancelled that there's no point ranking them or even just picking three. Of the shows I'm paying any attention to, here are the ones I don't have a lot of hope for:

Fringe - My instincts still say that this one is getting a lot more hype than it deserves. Although I love Lost and have high hopes for Star Trek XI, I don't think JJ Abrams is bulletproof. I think this will open strong and then take a Bionic Woman nose-dive.

Dollhouse - Joss Whedon isn't bulletproof, either. The premise lacks a strong "make-me-care" aspect to keep people tuning back in each week.

Virtuality - I might personally find this worthwhile, but I'm not expecting it to survive. The premise is too weird and they cast that boring guy who sunk New Amsterdam as the lead!

Eleventh Hour - This will be cancelled quickly. The premise isn't going to grab folks and Rufus Sewell isn't dynamic enough to carry a series.

Kings - I love Ian McShane, but this is another too-weird one - a sort of parallel reality that is almost like our own, except they have a Biblical-era monarchy form of government? I think people will be confused and change the channel.

6. The 3 most likely established shows to be cancelled this season?
I think this has got to be the last season for Prison Break. Sarah Connor Chronicles and Chuck have got to get their ratings up or at least no more sliding in order to survive the season. Reaper is slated to come back midseason and its fate depends on the survival of the CW, which is iffier than Reaper's ratings.

7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network?
Well, the CW is sunk and I don't think NBC's slate will solve their problems. CBS will do okay but their lineup is too dull and old-fogey for me.

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?

Fall: Fringe
Mid: Dollhouse

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?

Fall: The Office
Mid: Scrubs and LOST

3. What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ?

Fall: Any reality show
Mid: Ditto

4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?

Prison Break. I just couldn't stay interested.

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season?

1. The Cleveland Show. Looks Terrible
2. Dollhouse
3. Fringe (I'm already assuming that FOX will cancel the shows I most want to see lol.)

6. The 3 most likely established shows to be cancelled this season?

1. Scrubs -Zach Braff isn't coming back, so it's done
2. How I Met Your Mother - It barely made it back this year
3. Gossip Girl (wishful thinking)

7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network?

1. CBS
2. ABC
3. FOX
4. NBC
5. CW

Re: Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

Only doing the fall season since I really don't know what's coming.

(Try to name just one show for the fall and the same for mid-season)

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?
Probably Knight Rider. Might fall into the same trap of Bionic Woman though.

2. What established show
are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?

Probably Heroes. Last season wasn't that good, but It's been so long I really and curious to see how this season goes.

What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ?

Most seasons I tend to not care about what is coming on (I'm more of a sports TV guy really and can't wait till NFL on Fox and NFL on CBS), but I really don't care about 90210. I watch nothing on the CW.

Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?
Yes, 24. It got so bad that it's a waste of time now.

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season?
Knight Rider
11th Hour
Pick any other show. I really don't know what's coming to be honest with you.

6. The 3 most likely
established shows to be cancelled this season?/quote]

CSI Vegas - Yeah, it's a bold prediction, but I think the departure of Peterson is going to hurt the show.

24 - I think this is the last season and it's make or break

I know it's not going to happen, but every year I hope this is the last year of American Idol.
7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network?
Fox - Idol always makes Fox number 1
CBS - They are always so good
ABC - Other than Lost, what do they have again?
NBC - No Comment, but looking forward to the NFL Season and Olbermann and Patrick back together again.
CW - Why is this a network again?

Re: Network TV Fall 2008...Your View!!!

1. What new show are you looking the most forward too seeing in the fall and Mid-season?
FALL: My Own Worst Enemy

MID: I don't know what comes out midseason that's new besides Dollhouse, and I don't care about that.

2. What established show are you looking the most forward too seeing again in the fall and Mid-season?
FALL: Heroes

MID: Lost, 24, Battlestar Galactica, Friday Night Lights (since I don't have DirecTV).

Although with 24, it's probably to see Tony Almeida again. Those previews for the new season that said it'd be unlike anything we'd seen before and then it shows us a mole and a torture, was that meant to be ironic?

3. What new Show do you least care about this fall and Mid-season ?
FALL: 90210

MID: Dollhouse

4. Are you giving up on any established shows that you have watched from previous seasons?
I already gave up on Boston Legal a while back. Also dropping Criminal Intent since Chris Noth is gone.

5. The 3 most likely new shows to be cancelled this season?
Fringe, Life on Mars, My Own Worst Enemy

6. The 3 most likely established shows to be cancelled this season?
Can I say ER and The Shield? :)

The Unit, Life and Boston Legal -- the first two because of their new timeslots.

7. List in order from Best to worst, your opinion on the network postions come the season's end for most watched network?

CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC, CW

Heroes & Lost
