Second, Spock was biologically incapable of just saying "Fuck it" due to the Pon Far.

I do believe that T'Pring was biologically experiencing her own version of pon farr as well, so it wasn't a possibility for her to simply walk away from the entire matter (or attempted to), the ancient drives was there for her as well.

It wasn't her idea that a challenge resulted in a death match. Vulcan society saw to that.

I disagree. I think he does it very well. One of the things I love most about Vulcans is that they are the KINGS of dry, sarcastic humour. T'pol, Spock, Tuvok....they can all make me laugh [as I love that type of humour].

Sarcasm and quips seems to come naturally to all Vulcans. I wouldn't say thats failing to control emotion as such.

When he sighs in frustration and rolls his eyes, his impatience comes through loud and clear.

But I agree that Vulcans are masters of sarcasm.

Impatience is the result of having other important things to do, perhaps even with a deadline. So I wouldn't consider it very emotional.

I guess mastering really dry sarcasm is very important in culture where you can't say go fuck yourself.

Tuvok is my favourite Vulcan and one of my favourite characters in VOY who, as with so many, was forgotten about after season 4. Agree with all that's been said about him just being a normal kinda guy and it was great to see a Vulcan that wasn't a scientist.

Plus I've always found Tim Russ very easy on the eyes

Excellent scene. Tuvok definitely showed that he was Captain material. Commanding, authoritative, and trusting his staff to carry out his direction. I'd work for the guy. He should have been written like this all the time.
