Tron: Ares

Mrs Umpire and I watched this over the weekend. We got disinterested and I checked out, but she watched the rest last night. I sort of paid attention, then we switched to Wednesday and Fallout. I couldn't get into Ares and kept wishing it was like Original Tron.

I haven't seen the movie, but I was at my local record store and they had a "Top 10 of 2025" display, and, I was surprised to see the soundtrack at No. 8.
Was it really that successful?

New to Nine Inch Nails?

Even I know of them and I barely keep up with much new.
I know of them, but, unless they've been on in the background at the shop because of the technicians likes that type of music and plays it through his Spotify station, I don't think I could name/identify a single song of theirs.

I couldn't either but I know they're popular enough to hear them talked about.

Watched this with my wife the other night. It was a lot better than I'd been led to believe, I thought it was beautifully filmed, with some amazing FX.

I found the soundtrack to be underwhelming.
I typically love Trent Reznor's scores, but I didn't find this one memorable, aside from the Wendy Carlos callback.

The Daft Punk score is far more memorable and I still consider it one of the greatest film scores.

There was far more kinship between Daft Punk's score and NIN's than between DP's and Wendy Carlos'.

if you live inside the USA there's a physical release available now via Amazon and other places but not so much down under. In fact almost nothing about physical releases down here, thank the gods for region free players
