Tron: Ares

That's an interesting question, as the ending to Legacy certainly left that open. The new trailer suggests she could have survived fairly easily, given how Ares seems to be a prototype for a Grid-based military in the human world.
The name fits but given what we know of programs the casual execution of one is rather interesting sci-fi idea.

Well the ending of Legacy didn't Sam and Quorra ride off into the sunset so to speak on his motorbike? Surely he didn't just dump everything and run?

That's very true but at the very least he didn't even want to take ownership of Encom? What a waste. I mean that's all assumption on my part but. Oh well.
I mean, we don't know. He might have tried but Dillinger outmaneuvered him and Sam was more keen on adventures with his girlfriend.

This was an official production, just for the record. Not a fan film.

I'm not especially excited for the movie, mostly because of Leto, but I'm also not sure about the "Tron-world in the real world" premise. That said, it does look like they're trying to make it relevant to current events. So we'll see.

The soundtrack looks to be another good one, though. I enjoyed this more than I've enjoyed Nine Inch Nails in a while.

So was the end of The Next Day after Sam came back from The Grid?
Yes. (I don't know if it is literally the very next day, but certainly post-Legacy)
At the end of Legacy, Sam tells Alan that he will take back control of ENCOM. And here Alan tells Roy that Sam has made him chairman.

There's also this follow-up to The Next Day:

Here's the full run of the Flynn Lives material contained on the Blu-ray:

These are both on the Blu-ray, just FYI for anyone who cares. :)

Interesting.

Imagine the marketing things if you could turn the Grid into a tourist destination

Now I wish they had done the soundtrack for Quake 2.

It's a shame we got all this set up for a big Sam Flynn vs Dillinger Jr. conflict that we'll probably never get. Didn't the scene with Dillinger Jr. also hint at the possible return of the Master Control Program?

Yup, all of that was suggested and primed to followed up on. And I fact, they were going to do it, with Boxleitner involved, but Disney decided not to do it because of their recent acquisitions of Marvel and Star Wars (per director Joseph Kosinski).

The trailer made it look rather meh but I'm sure the music would be good. I'm not familiar with this NIN chap but he must be a big deal for them to advertise it.
