It was so hard watching her get married, when I know he thought "that should be me." Also, the scene when they are touring the lava pits was really difficult - she is barely holding it together and is trying to logic him into being okay with her decision. Too bad that logic stuff doesn't work so well on a human...

I felt bunnies nipping at my heels again. Maybe another fic will come of it.


p.s. T'Pol mentioned invoking the kalifee -- what are some thoughts on that? If she'd done it, would Trip have died at the hands of Koss, or would he have been the victor? And what do you think his reaction would be to, 'Hey by the way, you gotta fight him to the death'?

I think T'Pol meant a relationship. My shippy mind thinks that she wanted to be with Trip, but she also knew that being with him would take work. Right then, in her opinion, she needed most of her attention to be focused on the Kir'Shara thingy, so... Oh, but I hated this. I wanted them to get together right away.

Me too. Of course, the way my shippy mind works, I thought she referred to their intimate relationship. Then thoughts started bouncing around about when/how she told him she'd been released from her marriage, circumstances surrounding that revelation... maybe he finagled a neuropressure session in there somehow when she got back from Vulcan, and the chemistry between them sparked up again, then he started to make a move then held himself back to respect her marriage. She tells him Koss anulled it, he takes it in for a moment while she explains the logic of it, and then they ...

Pensive I'm glad your plotbunnies are giving you new ideas for TnT stories I look forward to reading them soon. After rewatching the Cogenitor the other night I sure thought there was alot of miscommunuication and misunderstanding between Trip & T'Pol when it came to what happened with Charles and the Vissians . I know T'Pol was following orders when she was left in charge but I also agree with some of the things he said about the way Cogenitor was treated. Yes he made mistakes I wish there had been a followup as to what happened with the Vissians and what happened because of this incident to see the repercussions of it.

You know, I felt that same kind of thing the first time I watched it, but when it aired the other night I suddenly found myself realizing how out of line it was for Trip to do what he did. On our planet, sure it was wrong, but a whole other culture based on tri-gender reproduction? I see what Archer was saying to him about not thinking that all the way through. Trip's intention from the start was to convince 'Charles' that 'his' life was unfulfilling as a cogenitor. He couldn't have known that suicide would be the end, but that didn't make what he did any less subversive.

I also wish we could have seen a little more of what happened regarding Trip and the Vissians. From just the episode it seems all that happened to Trip was his friendship with Archer went south temporarily. He wasn't demoted, he wasn't disciplined... Archer made it seem very grave, then just sent him away (presumably to let Trip's conscience bother him?)


p.s. I sent my fic off to TriS, so hopefully it will be posted there soon. Do y'all want to read it before telling me whether or not I should post it here on this forum?

I take pretty much the opposite view as you as far as Cogenator is concerned. The only thing out of line for Trip was for him to sit there and take Archer's hypocritical rant like a bitch instead of standing up for himself. I totally agreed with Trip as far as the cogenator was concerned. That was a sex slave, no two ways about it. And yet, somehow, because that's just the way the Vissians' culture was supposed to be, that made it alright. Where does that even come from? And this is a season after Dear Doctor which condemned an entire species to extinction because they treated the other humanoid species like serfs, which is still a hell of a lot better than only being valued for one's sex organs and treated as such. Then, one episode right before this, Archer tried desperately for Phlox to treat that Antaran, regardless of what Phlox's culture or medical ethics were. Then Archer ahs the gall to chew his best friend (or so we're led to believe) out over doing the exact same thing he would've done had he been there. Not impressed with that, not at all.
