TrekBBS Fantasy Baseball League!

I see our mystery team (A.F.Z.) in the NL Yahoo league finally didn't make the minimum innings last week. Not too surprising, considering he now has 4 pitchers in his starting line-up that are on the DL (and 3 other players as well). Kind of sucks, but at this point, there's not a lot we can do except hope that his inaction doesn't totally screw things up.

Shit, sorry, forgot to change his lineup. Will do that asap and at least get something close out there to compete against...

Edit: as it worked out, Deanna only got 1-2 extra points by having him forfeit pitching, he was losing them all anyway...

Except the minimum inning rule didn't apply last week because of the All Star Game shortening the schedule.

I was just wondering if anyone else actually didn't reach the minimum last week? I ask because I did with a day to spare and if everyone else did, than they shouldn't have dropped that rule. Of course my pitchers were pretty good (I'm feeling really good about CC finally this season ;) ) but it would have been nice to have the minimum inning rule still.

I never even noticed. Since I'm on a losing streak of about a billion weeks in a row, it's a little painful to look at my stats.
Another losing week, and I'm having a fire sale of my players.

I'm betting everyone who I tried to trade Jorge Posada to is grateful they didn't deal now.

Yeah- Thanks for that! Unfortunately, I did trade away a reliever for him in the ESPN league. Oops...

I see that Scout changed around A.F.Z.'s roster. Sure wish he would've forgotten about it for at least one more week. :p Looks like I'm going to have to make some pitching moves myself: That All-Star game is still screwing with my roster (both starters- Cliff Lee and Ben Sheets- are on my team). I've been looking at SPs just to get me past the limit, but there's not a lot out there. And beleive me, I've looked: I broke my foot on Friday, so I've had plenty of time to research things.

Oh, I believe you. I've been looking extensively, too. There are a few minor prospects but nothing all that outstanding.

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that. Get plenty of rest!

It's not that bad- just a small break on the top of the foot. I'll have to wear a boot cast for a while, but since it's my right foot, at least I can still golf (being the klutz that I am, I already have experience golfing with a cast). Swimming's out, and driving a car can get a bit dicey, but other than that, I'm pretty much good to go.

Still haven't figured out what to do about my Yahoo pitching dilemma. I guess I'll just have to pick up the best pitchers available. I'm not sure who to drop to make room on my roster, though. With Torii Hunter out on bereavement leave, I don't have a lot of wriggle room.

With the trade between the Nationals and the Dbacks, it looks like I'm in the market for a closer. Anyone have one they can spare?

man, my team is just sucking this year. Very confusing, given the names I've got, it's just not putting it all together at the same time. Hopefully getting Ortiz back will help, and maybe even Victor Martinez at some point. Guess you aren't gonna do too well when your first couple picks sit on the DL...

Kinda sucks that I got stuck playing against A.F.Z. right after his roster was revamped for the 1st time all year. No free ride for me. His pitchers went 5-0 with a 1.97 ERA. Tough to beat that, especially when I started scrambling just to make the minimun innings.

After finishing at the bottom last year, it's nice to see my ESPN team showing signs of life. I doubt I'll ever move into first, but I'm in a good position to snag a playoff spot this year (assuming I didn't just jinx myself by saying that).

I'm being plagued with injuries. Looks like Chipper Jones may go to the DL (this time for real!) just when I got Alfonso Soriano back. Plus, my pitching is still struggling. I'm barely holding it all together.

Captain Ice, are you at all interested in Huston Street?

I'm so close to not being in last but I just can't get over the hump. I wish what was happening now would have happened in the first 10 weeks of the season. I might actually be in a playoff spot if it had. :(

Yes and no. Sucks you got first crack at him, but on the other hand, we talked about it ahead of time, and everyone got to play him once "as is" before I changed his roster. Didn't make any pickups, or move anyone to the DL, or even rotate pitchers, just moved active players to the front, and DLed players to the bench. No adjustments for performance, so if you still lost to him, not much you can say :p

FUCK!

The Braves hit me with a double whammy today. Both Chipper Jones and Tim Hudson are now on the DL and I only have room for one of them. :censored:

Oh, I don't mean to bitch (I save that for real life:p), but I do wish you would've changed the roster at the half-way point instead of part way through the second round. My main concern now is what happens if A.F.Z. does make ther playoffs? Despite his total lack of interest, he still has a fairly decent team. Remember, this team was in 4th place in June despite the fact that he never lifted a finger.

no one had brought it to my attention that he wasn't doing anything with his team at that point.

Otherwise, not sure what to say. He's got an auto-drafted team and hasn't managed it, but still decent players. If he makes the playoffs or knocks someone off, then that's just that much more embarassing for them, I guess...

Well, fuck. One of my best pitchers, Tim Hudson, needs Tommy John surgery and is most likely out for the season. This hasn't been a good year for me in pitching. :(

The way my pitchers are going this week, I'd be better off if they all got injured- they haven't won a game all week for either of my fantasy teams.

Been trying to set my rosters up for the next 5 days. I'll be out in the sticks (at the BWCA), so I won't have a chance to change things from Saturday until Wednesday. I sure hope there's not a lot of rainouts or injuries that'll affect my rosters. On the other hand, maybe it'll help my game- lately, I've been micromanaging my team out of all sorts of offensive points.
