TrekBBS Dream Journal...

Anxiety dreams are not fun. Considering I've had them two nights in a row (the chased by alligators dream and another one where I was chased by a crazed gunman) I'm wondering why I just didn't stand up for myself in the dreams.

I had a weird one last night. I was getting ready to go to the beach with a fellow BBSer (although i can't remember who it was) and couldn't decide what bathing suit to wear, so i kept changing my clothes, going from bathing suits, to shorts, back to bathing suits....

I've had people ask me about dream incubation before, and I have a good example from my dream last night.

Before going to bed, I had two things on my mind. First, my dad was selling a car and I had to drive it to the dealership first thing in the morning. Second, I wanted to stand up to the anxiety dreams I've been having. As I was trying to fall asleep, I went over the dream about being chased with alligators and thought of other ways I could have reacted.

I had a dream where I woke up in the backseat of the car, which was in the middle of a showroom. My dad was there with a friend of his, who offered to pick him up after I hadn't showed up. I was trying to stay hidden from him because I felt embarrassed. Then I got pulled aside by an employee of the dealership. He yelled at me, telling me that I had been drinking until I passed out and spilled beer all over the interior of the car, so they would not be able to sell it.

Somehow, I felt that I should be taking this verbal abuse because I knew that I wouldn't have been drinking in a car. I started yelling back and challenged him to check my blood/alcohol level, because I knew the results would be in my favor. I also told him that I was getting a lawyer and suing him for slander. He scuttled away and I woke up feeling pretty good about myself.

I dreamed last night I was roommates with J.Allen/Sarek of Vulcan. :rommie: I don't remember all that much about the dream except he had a huge tennis shoe collection and kept asking me silly questions. He also would not leave me alone while I was watching LOST. I finally had to tell him that I had left a robot in the woods behind the house and sent him out to find it. It was the only way I could finish my show in peace. Very weird!

(And Sarek it wasn't really about you. My subconscious smashed about fifteen different things together. I don't think you would be aggravating me while I watched my shows.)

Just before my alarm clock went off this morning, I had a dream about buying a house or moving to a different home. (Right now I share a house with family members and have no plans to move anywhere.) In the dream, I was talking to a bunch of real-estate agents, saying that they found a property for me, not that I could recall looking for one. I thought about what was going to happen to my current home or whether my family was moving with me.

At some point, my mom was getting ready to attend an important event and was dressed really well, looking like her diva self. :D We passed by our neighbors, and this happened in another country where we lived, and they were commenting on how well my mom looked. That was the last thing I remembered. God, I hope that's not an premonition for something.

Ok...this is strange...to day I had a dream within a dream...

I was dreaming that I was telling this girl about a dream I had of both of us riding a roller coaster...while I was telling her I was also seeing the dream of her and I on the roller coaster.

I had a dream that I was visiting my mother in her house in Minsk... ...the strange thing is, she doesn't have a house in Minsk.

One of my strangest dreams happened just as I fell asleep. When climbing up a hay stack, a black cloud somewhat resembling my dog ran down the stack and enveloped my head, waking me up with a start. it had been 10 minutes since I fell asleep when the dream woke me up.

^ Yikes.

This morning I dreamed I was back in my old high school drama class. The teacher, Mrs. Petty, had separated everyone out into groups of ten and asked each to come up with a video project. My idea was to do a sketch comedy show with everyone writing short bits for us to do. (I was very happy with my idea since it managed to involve everyone in some way.) Then we would edit them all together with an opening title, music and segue animations... similar to Mad TV. I ended up as the director and I kept having to scream over everyone talking to get them to focus. I remember how annoyed I kept getting because they wouldn't listen.

But that isn't the interesting thing. (Actually the dream is a little boring.) I dreamed about all my old classmates, but not as they were. I dreamed about what they looked like now. It may have been 18 years but I still keep up with a lot of them and talk to several on a regular basis. I know what most of them look like so they all appeared in the dream to be 35/36. Needless to say it was very disconcerting, especially with my friend Frank. He is almost completely grey-headed now. He looked nothing short of bizarre wearing his old high school basketball jersey. :rommie: Oh and Richelle was sporting her classic pony-tail hairdo with her bangs teased into "The Claw". She hasn't worn that since 1992. (She is an EMT now so she keeps her hair short these days.)

The dream I had recently that was kind of strange...it involved political intrigue and was very adventurous...the dream starred Tom Hanks & Téa Leoni...I played a minor role...even though it was my dream. From what I remember they were journalist for conservative news outlets...Tom(print) & Téa(TV) trying to uncover a far left wing conspiracy.
When I woke up I was very upset by the whole tone of the dream and what it was they tried to uncover for some reason can't remember but it scared me. :(

I had this dream where I was supposed to return to my old job. I showed up at the mall and went up and down, looking for the store. There was no sign of it because there were huge crowds of people blocking my view everywhere I turned. Oddly enough, despite the huge crowd, I kept running into family members. None of them could tell me where I was supposed to go.

My dreams have been vivid and colorful lately. Last night I dreamed that I was with a group of people (co-workers, former classmates, I don't recall), and we came across this very beautiful church/cathedral. The exterior was made of concrete or marble, and it was quite a serene scene.

On a side note, I remember my boss was there, too, and he was addressing a group of employees. There was some sort of a celebration, and he was asking everyone their feedback on what food they wanted to have catered. One woman was saying she was on a special diet and fitness program and wondered if she could have some vegetarian meal from a special vendor, and I recall saying I didn't really care for that.

^ Actually mine have been unusually vivid as well.

And speaking of vivid, this morning's dream was a thrill and a half. I dreamed I was in a zombie movie with the beautiful sweet talented Heidi Klum. The entire thing was nothing short of spectacular. We were in this massive high rise building where she was being interviewed by this nasty British Television host for the BBC. All of a sudden the interview was interrupted by a zombie attack! And these were not your father's zombies either. They were straight out of Resident Evil, leaping, snarling and biting like wild animals. Heidi and I got the hell out of there, followed by the snarky host. We ran up and down all these long marble floored corridors barely missing zombies at every turn. To make a long story short, the host is turned into a snack while in an elevator, one he forced his way into by chucking out these two older ladies. I ended up rescuing the fabulous Mrs. Klum from a roof top solarium before she was eaten. We repelled down the side of the building to safety! :rommie:

Oh and Heidi's dress was this adorable red, black and white short number. I am going to have to use it when I finally get to be on Project Runway.

^
If you ever meet Heidi you can tell her about the dream. :)

I basically had a typical dream where I couldn't get my car started and then when I did and got going I couldn't get it to stop(like the brakes don't work). :(

I had a dream that a tiger and an elephant crawled into a tree to fight to the death. Try and beat that.

I had a dream that recently that felt more real...like I was seeing into the future...but it didn't make sense because it involved a lot of things that currently don't exist in my life...I don't know what to make of it...anyone else have dreams like this?

Can't say I have. What really bothers me is when I have an unpleasant dream that has such a physiological impact on me. It doesn't necessarily have to be a horror/nightmare type of dream

I had one last night. I dreamed I was talking to some people (friends, co-workers, etc.), and I was wearing my red fleece hoodie or sweatshirt. A bee (possibly a honeybee) got inside my hooded sweatshirt, and I was freaking out! In reality, I'm not afraid of bees and am more bothered by them. I was worried it was going to sting me, and I would get an allergic reaction. So there I was, trying to reach inside my shirt while hearing the buzz, buzz, buzz, and hoping to get some distance between the bee and my skin. I suddenly woke up with my heart racing, like I just ran a marathon. :wtf: It made me feel very unsettled and I didn't get a very good night's sleep last night, thus making me exceptionally grumpy today.

I hate it when a disturbing dream screws up your sleep cycle like that.

A couple of nights ago I dreamed the the Doctor/David Tennant was on vacation with me and my family. It alternated between him being the character and him being the actor that played the character. Towards the end when he was David Tennant he looked both ways to make sure no one could hear and then confided in me that he was forced out of the roll as the Doctor by the British mafia.

What's really weird is I haven't even gotten halfway through the David Tennant seasons yet. As far as I'm concerned he is the current doctor.

He's a fine actor, he is, just seeing him in MacBeth with Patrick Stewart.

Last night's dream was a bit disturbing. It was one of those recurring dreams where I was in some kind of school, but this time, it was my freshman year in high school in another country. (This was before my family and I moved to the U.S.)

Anyway, I was meandering in the hallways, trying to find a clean restroom. I finally saw a men's room, and like in my other dreams, it had a huge glass window that overlooked another building, but the drapes/curtains were too short or not wide enough to cover the windows. The stalls were right next to the windows, and so I felt uncomfortable using the restroom at all.

I was going with a group of classmates whom I knew (some from elementary and some from high school), and we were all taking the same classes and same periods. The first period was like an English class, and I remember bringing some newspapers to the class because there was some sort of a project or homework that the teacher assigned us, but I had lost some of the pages of the newspaper and was very concerned I would flunk. I also noticed my teacher had posted everyone else's project (a large paper with news articles, etc.) on the classroom wall except mine.

My third- or fourth-period Science class was right before lunch. Not remembering my class schedules and where certain rooms were, I knew I got lost and spent some time figuring out where I was supposed to go. Then I was late coming to class, and there I recognized my old classmates. The room looked more like a college classroom this time.

The disturbing part of the dream was seeing my old bitch Science teacher Ms. Pareja, who in real life once gave me a D in my quarterly report card for not having done a science project right. Pareja had a perky personality, but she was strict and mean-spirited, too. There she was, looking like her mean bitch self, and not having aged much since I saw her ugly face 20-something years ago. When I got to class, she was already assigning homework and projects to the miserable students and yelling at everyone about enforcing some classroom rules. When I approached Pareja, she gave me a bad attitude, commenting on my tardiness and saying something negative. My initial thought when I first arrived was that I didn't want to deal with this woman. (I once even posted a comment on my FB account about some nasty teachers and classmates I had back in the days.) I asked her if it would be possible for me to transfer out of her class and move to a different Science class, and she said she was the only teacher who taught the subject and there were no other Science classes on campus. :wtf: I remember calling her some nasty names afterwards.

But everything in the dream felt so real and natural. I didn't even question why I was in that place or in those situations.

Funny how dreams do that isn't it? I've had dreams where I'll remember something or have knowledge that relates to the dream, despite having no such memory or knowledge when awake.
