TrekBBS Dream Journal...

I had a funny dream experience the other night. I'm staying at my mother's in Seattle right now, while she recovers from surgery. Her guest room has two twin beds. I woke up in the middle of the night and looked across at the other twin bed -- I'd been dreaming that there was another guest sleeping there, and when I awoke and didn't see him I thought, "He must've got up to use the bathroom," and I fell back to sleep. I few hours later I myself woke up to use the bathroom, and looked across to the other bed thinking, "Wow, he's been gone a long time." I got up and walked into the hall, into the office, into the living room, wondering where he'd gone. It wasn't until I got to the bathroom that I turned around and looked across the rooms, slowly realizing that there wasn't actually anyone who was supposed to be sleeping in that bed.

I had a scary-ass nightmare last night.

I was in my country of origin, and a group of people, including my dad, my brother, some other men were riding dad's old jeep. It was a surprise we could all fit in, considering how small the vehicle was. There was a massive traffic jam ahead, and the street was quite narrow for a two-lane traffic. So our vehicle stopped and we decided to just walk, going eastbound.

My dad and I wondered what happened to the rest of the guys. The next thing I knew, my dad and I were in some kind of a hospital building, and this is where the dream started to become more realistic, as if I was watching a movie that I was a part of. There were dimly lighted hallways, and hospital staff could be seen walking in different directions. My dad and I got separated, and I saw a blonde nurse. The nurse disappeared out of thin air and was soon replaced by an Asian woman, also a nurse. She was holding a strange gadget that looked like a smoke detector, and she was going about her business. I believe she disappeared, and I saw another nurse entering a room.

Some guys were running, as if trying to get away from something or someone. It turned out that there was some kind of an outbreak within the hospital, and anyone who was infected by the virus went violently insane, attacked other people, and their skin "exploded" and thus spreading the infection to others. I remember running like hell. Towards the end, there was an evil woman in the hospital who was behind all the epidemic, and she wanted to find the very last person to be infected.

I woke up terrified. That dream really made me unsettled.

Weird dream Drone36929. I know what ya mean about unsettling.

Last night I dreamed both my wife and my mom died on the same day. Then my friends avoided me like I was a huge inconvenience to comfort.

Sometimes dreams suck! :scream:

I keep having dreams about going to Hawaii...I am in no position to take a trip now...but I really want to go.

In this last dream I was sitting outside my beach house with a very lovely blonde woman and we were looking at the ocean and drinking pink drinks...I could faintly hear music in the background along with the crashing of the waves & birds...I couldn't make out the music but it was soft and melodic with female vocals. It felt like the perfect moment & the perfect day. :sigh:

Last night I remember dreaming about re-learning the difference between "who's" and "whose."

Been reading, "The Elements of Style" by William Strank & E.B. White lately. Probably has something to do with it. :p

Right before I woke up this morning, I had a dream about one of my favorite PC games, The Sims 2. One thing I like about the game is the ability to build and design houses. In my dream, however, I was trying to design the layout of the whole neighborhood (like Strangetown, etc.) by building a large waterfall that led into a river, which then became small canals than ran through the city (like in Venice).

I thought about building bridges and tunnels, not realizing that those features were available only in Sim City 4 or similar games. Further, I wanted the Sims to be able to leave their houses and enjoy the scenery, go to the river, etc., not realizing that the "seamless neighborhood" feature was available only in Sims 3.

I don't know why I had this dream. I haven't played The Sims 2 or 3 lately.

I somehow missed this thread until now.

Dream analysis is quite fun, and can help with introspection, though I don't fully buy into it all. The fun is better if you do know a bit of the theory behind it, so I encourage you all to read a little bit about it. It's an interesting different perspective anyway.

I happened to have quite an unusual and very symbol-heavy dream a couple of nights ago and decided to use that dream as the basis of an entry on my blog describing some of the key features in terms of how a Jungian analyst might approach the concepts involved. It helps to see the concepts applied to a specific dream, in order to understand their general applicability.

The full entry can be found here, and goes into more explanation, but I'll excerpt a section that might help with the basics:

They represent my Jungian Shadow, that part of the unconscious mind that is a conglomerate of repressed weaknesses and instincts. It is the part of us that defies everything we believe true about ourselves.... The turbulent and emotional natures of Shadow and Anima have the capacity to drive creativity, in a way the conscious Persona cannot. But the Shadow cannot be allowed to overwhelm the Persona. As Jung himself said in Archetypes, to do so would result in “a man… always standing in his own light and falling into his own traps… living below his own level”. If the Shadow is not recognised it leads to over-identification with the Anima in order to satisfy the Shadow’s desires: “Possession caused by the anima [results in] the anima surround[ing] herself with inferior people”.

I had a very interesting dream last night. The details are kinda foggy, but I recall being in a threesome with two other guys. :shifty: I don't remember who they were or how we got to that part, but I was having a really good time. I don't often have dreams like that, which is what I found weird.

Last night I dreamt that I was an unwitting spy. (Not quite like "Chuck" but definitely wasn't how the dream started out). I'm pretty sure it's because I'm writing some spy stuff right now, so that's where my mind is at. ;)

I had a dream last night I was on an adventure with that girl from Harry Potter...Emma Watson...we were running through the forest and talking with woodland creatures...the dream got scary when we came upon a spooky castle...inside were all these creepy things like skeletons and shadowy images...Emma used magic a few times. The dream got foggy and I forgot alot of the stuff that happened before I woke up.

I dreamed that it was September 10th, 2001, but I was fully aware of the future, right up until 2010. I tried to warn people about what would happen in New York the next day, but no one listened. Then, after it happened, the people who heard me predict it had me arrested by the FBI. I foretold every future event and every time they asked me how I knew, I wasn't able to answer them. Odd dream, really.

My dream with Emma Watson was odd too...cause I hate Harry Potter.

No.

I keep having dreams about just telling my family members off and it is intense but doing so in my waking life wouldn't really help me or them...I mentioned this before but I could never tell people I depend on everything that is bothering me with out having a way out...I tried to air grievances at a job I once had and they basically said if I don't like it I can leave and I did leave...but right now with my living situation I have no where to go. :(

Hopefully, you'll find something better that you'll like, and it's hard when you live in times when people are losing their jobs and their homes.

I had a scary dream last night but hardly remember the details. I was at the mall with family members, and I came across a "demonic" store. I think it was some gateway to hell and that anyone who entered would have a very frightening experience and some very disturbing visions. I went in and was glad when I got out of there and hoped other people would avoid it. Then I remember taking the elevator at work, and two women who was with me went into a trance, genuflected, and it was like a sign of devil worship. I was scared as hell.

The other dream I had was part of something bigger, and I also can't recall the details. I was traveling somewhere, like in Southern CA, which I've never been in real life. I was trying to get back home to the Bay Area by means of carpooling with some random stranger (but I wasn't hitchhiking or anything). So I was at a bus depot where other people were waiting to share rides, too. The person I ended up with was an older man in his 60s or 70s with a small cargo truck for delivering supplies. He said goodbye and kissed his wife, and I got into his truck. I was curious about his nationality or ethnicity, as I couldn't tell whether he was Asian or Hispanic. I wanted to ask and strike up a conversation, but his cell phone rang and he answered it. As we were getting out of the "parking garage," I noticed that he was driving very recklessly, which made me nervous. He would make these sharp turns around corners at a high speed. He wouldn't signal or look back when he merged into traffic, and he was driving too fast. I think that was the end of the dream.

My mall has a Spencer's too.

I saw a 300 pound couple (each, not combined) raid the adult section one day there

Hey, I thought of Spencer's, too, but this store in my dream was a lot more diabolical.
