A good movie. ;)
Bingo. :bolian:

Otherwise, Quinto as Spock. No offence, but none of the poll choices is something I'm terribly concerned about. Characters, plot and dialogue have always been of more interest to me than sets, effects and the like.

I thought about the handheld props, which undoubtably become toys, high end props, and general merchandising do dads (and I did love those toys in the 70s and later in the 90s when they were redone). However, the bridge struck me as most important, because most of the action in Trek takes place there.

Since we've sort of seen the outside I'm looking forward to seeing the bridge most of all. That seems like it'll be the bigger challenge in bringing it into the modern era than the exterior is.

I don't really care about that stuff, but I guess I'm curious how they handle communicators being larger than cell phones and let's not even start in on the tricorder situation.

I'm most looking forward to the audience around me laughing at the jokes and going dead silent for the serious moments. It will make for a refreshing change from the last Trek movie I saw in a theater, which inspired the audience to do the opposite.

I want Star Trek XI to do for science fiction what the Dark Knight did for comic books movies.

I could not have said it better myself! Personally, I am most excited about seeing a new take on James T. Kirk (and Scotty!).

A very cool film that makes me say "wow!" as I leave the theater -- but one that still screams "This is Star Trek".

But to answer the poll question -- which, no offense intended, none of the choices are too terribly important to me -- I'm split between "exterior" and "bridge set", but I'll go with the bridge set, since it probably has more screen time.

This sums it up for me, also.

Simple - communicators are far more powerful than any cell phone ever conceived. ;)

It's true. Cell phones would be useless without the towers and infrastructure to support them. Tricorders and communicators work all on their own.
