Yes, they have -- you have but to witness some of the fashion and gossip magazines found in the racks at supermarket checkout lanes to see evidence of that -- but I think that what we have here is more a simple case of someone trying to show off on the Internet. As a disinterested straight female, I Googled some images of her, and I don't think I'd call her "average" at all. Has Hollywood and the rest of the media so badly twisted the concept of what "average" actually is for some people?

Big words. Olivia Munn is certainly average. Based on this, what would be the point of releasing anything? Perhaps if we bombard people with enough stuff, they will eventually be forced to change their minds. If this is more wide-spread than just your theater, then if would indicate that the public doesn't give a rat's ass about Star Trek, and even if they had a comic-con booth, getting all the comic fans on board certainly wouldn't make it any more successful than it would have been.I went to two different showings for Cloverfield. Both the times the audience groaned, laughed or poked fun at it. "Another one?" "It's gonna suck" "Is this Star Wars?" were the comments I heard in the theaters. It was embarassing.Any member of the general public who went to "Cloverfield" saw a great teaser trailer
I think people on their websites who give this movie so much positive feedback (or negative) certainly have ulterior motives
