Trek writers original works

There will also be at least one NCIS: New Orleans novel in March 2017 apparently, though no author or further details are listed yet.

Litte update, since it kind of fits the (broadened) topic of the thread:

I just saw on Amazon that the NCIS: NO novel will be written by TrekLit alumni Jeff Mariotte

Speaking of Jeff Mariotte, his DEADLANDS novel, THUNDER MOON RISING, officially went on sale this Tuesday--and I happen to know that he just got his author copies.

So, for what it's worth, if you want to read a very cool Weird Western written by a Trek author and edited by another Trek author . . .. :)

Jeff and his wife, Marsheila Mariotte, are also collaborating on some new XENA novels, I believe.

^ What's up with tie-ins for long gone series popping up? Beside Xena (which has a reboot coming up, so it's kind of understandable that they try to cash in on that) I also have seen listings for Charmed, Hercules and Ghost Whisperer stuff.

While it is cool to see more tie ins again after a drought a decade or so ago and I'm not surprised to see books for newer stuff like Librarians, Blacklist, Gotham, Flash and Arrow, some of those are headscratchers for me.

Did I mention that Tor has a new DARK SHADOWS novel coming out in October, written by Lara Parker?

Who, alas, is not also a Trek writer. :)

I don't know about the others, but wasn't there a false rumor about a Charmed reboot a few months back? Maybe that stirred up some demand there, gave the fandom a shot in the arm or something and the writer/publisher is responding to that.

Just got an advance author copy of THE LIBRARIANS AND THE LOST LAMP. Yippee!

Now I just need to make the final revisions to THE LIBRARIANS AND THE MOTHER GOOSE CHASE . . . :)

I think that is one of my favorite titles I've ever seen.
I've never read it, but I was looking at comedic books, and I came across a book actually titled Help! A Bear is Eating Me. It didn't really sound like my kind of book, so I haven't read it but it's still an attention getting title.
Is the story in that the first Planet of the Apes story with the title Banana Republic?

Is The Blacklist getting novels? I know it's got a comic series, but I hadn't heard about novels.

There has also been a new post-TV series Charmed comic that's up to it's second season, so that might also be part of it.

Although he's known in Trek circles for other reasons, he has written Trek novels before, so I'll mention this: Shatner has a new novel out, original sci-fi titled Zero-G. My copy's in the mail.

Cool! Thanks. I noticed that Titan seems to be the big company for tie-ins right now. It seems like most of the tie-ins I've seen for recent shows and movies has come from them.

FYI, I just found a third Blacklist novel listed for September 2017.

As far as I can see Titan has published stuff for these series in the last few years or will soon publish for them:
  • Blacklist
  • Supernatural
  • The Flash
  • Gotham
  • NCIS: New Orleans
  • Arrow
  • NCIS: Los Angeles
  • 24
  • Beauty & the Beast
  • Elementary
  • Sons of Anarchy
  • Sleepy Hollow
  • Grimm
  • Fringe
Plus some movie and game tie-ins, so yeah, I guess it's fair to say that they seem to try to be the go to publisher for tie-ins right now.

Minor note: Titan are not original publisher of the 24 books, they subbed them from Tor/Forge. But the point stands, they're certainly doing more tie-ins than anyone else right now.

Totally forgot that TOR is the original publisher, I actually left Castle off the list because that is a similar case AFAIK where they're not the original publisher.
