Did the Breen become insanely popular after a brief appearance where they went out like a chump?

Actually they did - we didn't see much of them on DS9 and I doubt that Dominion alliance worked out very well for them when the Dominion lost. The Breen can't be very popular in the Alpha Quadrant now.

I'm sure the Breen will claim that their alliance with the Dominion was a social experiment. And we all fell for it!
