Trek.....sprite art.

Hidily ho!

I have always enjoyed working with video game sprites, especially 8 and 16 bit sprites. Anyhow, I was thinking, "There's no real niche' of Star Trek sprite art,"...so I figured why not make some myself.

As some of you know, I got some fictions in mind to write as soon as I get some of the loose ends taken care of. They will feature my original character, Cassy, and I need to pick what Trek era of the original Trek universe, or "Prime Universe" as some fans call JJ's Trek.

Anyhow, here is a sprite sheet of Cassy, which is a work in progress, for I still have alot more to work on here.

I'm going to use sprites from classic games, such as Double Dragon, Bad Dudes, Final Fight, you get the idea. This one picture above is a sheet of the Double Dragon character named Linda. I have already changed the head, the hair, face and skin tone. I still need to alter her clothing...and Cassy's a civilian, so no Starfleet uniform for her....though there's always room for possibiliites, as Spock would say. All the heads, faces and so on are there, just to make copying and pasting a lil more convenient....the final version won't have that mess, though there will be a box of various face and eye choices so Cassy can emote.

I'll post some more here once I get things going, and get my needle in the groove, so to speak. Comments are welcome. :bolian:

If you're looking for Trek sprites, the old arcade game Xenophobe offers up a few guys in what may as well be TOS uniforms.

What's your ultimate goal with this, a retro beat-em-up with Trek characters?

No, just some sprite comics. Various poses, like a punch, could also be used to hold something, like pointing a phaser or tricorder. :) Plus there's bound to be a fist fight or two at times.

I'm gonna try to make them myself first, seeing just how far I can push my spriting skills.

If anyone is interested, I could make one of Mr. Clean....er...the Kelvin captain that everyone's worshipping.
