Trek Remastered Season Two Syndication Schedule

I just hope my local FOX and CW channels keep the show in its current weekend-afternoon slots. I don't want to have to go chasing all over the dial for it.

Interesting how the two regular season 'galactic barrier' episodes (BAON..ITITNB..) air within two weeks of each other.

Galileo Seven should be interesting...

Lets see if they jazz The Companion up

Lets see if they keep the one beauty shot of the ENT firing phasers (in AF), as seen from behind and port.

Lets also see what they do with the planet backdrops of EW and Man Trap

The Klingon cruisers in Day of the Dove and Elaan

The matte of Dagger of the Mind - do they follow tradition and adopt some of the Delta Vega amenities?

The passage close to the sun in Operation: Annihilate! Also maybe show some of the satellites!

The 'battle' with the Vampire cloud of Obsession

Mudd's cargo ship in the asteroid belt

The matte for Requiem for Methuselah

Cloud Minders should be fun to see

And lets see what the can do to Godzilla..I meant Vaal.. in The Apple

But definitely Ultimate Computer...

Why are they putting "The Cage" with the Season 2 episodes? Technically, it wasn't in *any* season...

I think TOS Remastered has been split into two parts. This is part two, being called "season two" here. It's not actually season two of TOS, but a collection of 40 episodes from all three seasons. So, the Cage is just as right here as in the first jumbled half.

Here's hoping Okuda and his people make some new CGI "ape men" for Taurus II in the Galileo episode. Edit out the close ups of the tall stunt guys in shaggy fur suits(they don't work...they never have)and digitally insert some new CGI primates over top of the shuttlecraft and Lt. Gaetano.

One interesting thing about the TOS-R schedule is that while most episodes don't get a rerun (since there are 40 new episodes and only 12 repeats each season), The Doomsday Machine & Space Seed get repeated twice. I guess the TOS-R team really likes the work they have done on those 2 episodes.

I know I do. Great revamps there. Killer effects for the most part.

Wouldn't that be a bit expensive?

startrek.com lists the episode airing next weekend as The Doomsday Machine, but the DirecTV guide claims it's going to be Amok Time.

Maybe not. The CGI Gorn from the Mirror Universe episodes of ENTERPRISE were done on a limited budget, and that was during a Season 4 when the filming budget had already been trimmed by UPN and Paramount.

True. Nobody's defending that "velocirap-Gorn." :D

Still...proof you can do something moderately three-dimensional and realistic on a limited CGI budget and schedule. Maybe Okuda changed the ape men on Taurus II. Maybe he didn't. Could be they were too much trouble to deal with and he just focused on the space shots of the shuttle and the Enterprise.

Yeah, but that Gorn sucked. And I was a fan of ENT and especially IaMD.
Absofuckinglutely. Agreed on all points. How could the production team have blown this so badly? Lack of money? Time? I remember the publicity department touting the return of the Gorn, but did anybody bother to screen the episode first? What a letdown. :(

I'm always amazed that they made a killer Tholian, but screwed up royally with the Gorn.

The only time that thing looked like a classic TOS Gorn was when it was standing upright...facing the camera...in the shadows of the ceiling directly above Mirror Archer. It looked like the classic "rubber suit" Gorn at that one brief moment. But when it jumped down it looked more like a cheesy CGI raptor from that goofy LOST WORLD syndicated show.

wouldn't the giant ape men scenes be too expensive, given the space scenes likely to be modified?

Probably. So many scenes in this episode show the Enterprise or the Galileo in space that I doubt Okuda and his team will do much to the ape creatures on the surface. I'd like them to. Because those shaggy old rug costumes just look awful. But it's all about time and budget...and priorities.
