Trek relaunch reading order?

Those Strange New Worlds novels look interesting with them being set in the far future.

They are short story collections, technically. I only read the 2016 one, but the far future story was rather interesting.

The Strange New Worlds anthologies were all made up [EDIT: of] stories submitted by fans that were then chosen by a group of judges, they covered all of the series and also featured original concepts. A few of the people who submitted stories went on to write for the regular series too.

Not at all, you provided a different view on the contest and that was my intention all along. As I wrote in the original thread about the article when someone commented that your comments where a bit harsh:

I don't think so.

I specifically asked Allyn and Terri to participate beside D.W. Smith and the Wardie-winners Dayton and Bill to get a well rounded view on the contest, and I think their perspective added a lot to the article.

And I think you yourself put it best:

No. Just honest. And not one to mince words.

I basically didn't want to fall in the same trap Jeff Ayers fell with Voyages of the Imagination. Most of the SNW entries read the same, and I just wanted to put an "outside" perspective on it as well, hence having two authors who made it into Treklit through SNW and two authors who participated , but made there inroads into TrekLit through other means.
