it's no different to remixing/remastering an old album and producing something that sounds better.
I absolutely HATE it when they are changing old albums for the "better", because in almost every case it means changing it for the worse! I haven't heard a single remastered cd that sounds better than the original release!
Not that I agree in all cases, but in this case they didn't produce something that looks 'better' to my eyes. Just like all remixes or remasters aren't always worse, it's a mixed bag, they aren't always better either. And that will vary depending on personal preference as well.
To the poster talking about not understanding Bluray, don't confuse higher resolution which Bluray has, to these tweaks we are talking about here. Get a new TV, HD cable box and/or bluray player and welcome to the 21st Century of clear non-pixelated images
