Trek movies..1-10

Okay...this hasn't been asked for a while, so I will ask now..

Based on YOUR personal opinion, how do you rank the Star Trek movies...first to last....And if you comment on someone's list, please have the 'balls' to produce your own ranking...

Here is my list...best to worst

The Wrath of Khan..simply the best. Character character character!!!

Generations...yes, its that high on my list...it has a great theme about life

The Voyage Home...I like the humor. Maybe over the top, but it was..fun. And coming on the heels of the slow moving Search for Spock, it was needed..

The Undiscovered Country...I like this movie...good ending to TOS...

The Search For Spock...Good, if not great, follow up to Khan..great character stuff, but didn't care for savvik or Kruge

First Contact...good movie, though over-rated..still a good movie. But, IMO, it ruined the Borg, and threw in a horny Queen for no other reason than get a rise out of its targeted base...

The Motion Picture...Pacing is a problem, but still good stuff. Great FX, great music, but something is missing...a soul. Still a good movie...most epic feeling of all the TREK movies, even to this very day

The Final Frontier...with box office adjusted for inflation, it leaves Insurrection and Nemesis in the dust...an uneven movie, but for the 'big three' it was great..Deforrest Kelly's best performance as McCoy...throw out some of the silly scenes and I think it would improve...

Insurrection...Being the follow up to First Contact, I expected more..instead its a light story with some very spotty acting (being kind) in this movie...

Nemesis...this movie's FX are bad...the acting in this movie makes Galactica 1980 look like Citizen Kane. Awful pacing..awful story..contrived beyond belief...I saw this opening day with TREK fans and...we all booed!!!

Okay..that is my list..can't wait to see how we are ranking the Trek movies with less than one year to go before XI...where will XI end up on my list?? God, I hope it challenges KHAN, a 26 year old movie now??? Yikes..

Thanks for sharing your list, Aerwynd. Isn't it amazing how none of us has yet to agree...thats actually good thing...star wars fans usually agree on their list, but not us...proving once again that TREK fans are of more freewill..

I wouldn't say that Star Wars fans agree in their rankings, having talked to many in person and being a frequent visitor to several fan boards. Most will agree that Empire is not the worst movie, and I've yet to see anyone put all three prequels above all the originals, but that's pretty much where the common threads end.

Trek has similar common opinions. Most will not put Wrath of Khan as the worst of the 10, and few put Final Frontier and Nemesis as the 1 and 2 positions on the list. The Trek films simply tend to target different kinds of audiences and fans with each release, while Wars films have more similarities between themselves (like repetition in a symphony, as Lucas would put it).

Perhaps..but most of my SW fans put the 4-5-6 above 1-2-3....oh hell why not..here is my SWs ratings..
