Trek movie moments that sucked.

TMP: when they have cleared the wormhole and the ship slowly stops shaking.
Insurrection: Crusher shooting those flying things, Worf firing a Bazooka and making a joke, The Joystick, Worf acne, Deanna & Riker bathing
NEM: Wesley Crusher scene, Shinzon stabbing scene, everything else
ST 3: Sarek/Kirk scenes on Earth, Pon Farr Scene
ST 6: Klingon translation scene, Scotty shooting Odo
ST 5: Catwoman, Skiboot scene(s), Brig scene, Talbot saying "Eden"
generations: Kirk frying eggs and chopping wood, Riding scene, Kurlan Naiskos, final fistfight

1) Scotty knocking himself out on a support beam.
I rationalize that as Scotty forgetting that he's no longer on his old ship. The support beam may not have "originally" been there.

I actually like that moment!

There's something unexplainably more amusing about those three boobs in the background, though. Seriously, they just look like such boobs.
Especially the one boob on the left, who starts to pump his fist and then stops realizing it's not his line.
I always read that scene as the various crewmembers building up to Data doing what he did. You have most of the senior staff looking serious, then you see the bridge crew with varied expressions, including the guy smiling (the other guy holding back because it doesn't seem very Starfleet) and then Data bursts out with "YES!"

^You're far too charitable. More likely, he was afraid of Brent Spiner jumping him in the alley later that night for stealing his laugh. ;)

I hope someone smacked that doofus.
With any luck, he was crushed by the big plastic rocks that start pouring out of every exploding console during the saucer crash.

The first appearance of Sybok's pitiful helper in TFF is pretty bad to me.

The brilliant opening shot of TFF?
Jeez, people just pull crap out of their ass to attack that movie.

The photography is fine, but I can't stand the character. I realize the situation on the planet is bad, but the producers made the character so pathetic that he is laughable. "All I have" and the post-meld reaction are among the worst moments in the film to me.

You may disagree, but my reaction to that scene has not changed since I first saw the movie. I look for the good in all Trek productions, so I'm not actively looking for reasons to bash TFF or any other movie or show.

See, I found it very touching.

Me too.
Without realizing it at first, I actually held my breath during that part of the scene. I think I still do. :lol:

I'll start by saying this is not an attempt to bash TFF. I liked the film. But I don't like the bit with the Captain's log being a hand-held device that malfunctions. It seemed too much going for the cheap laugh. Also, the contrivance that even though Enterprise isn't the only ship in the area, ONLY Jim Kirk can handle this assignment. If that was the case, why not let Kirk and his senior staff use another ship that's in better shape?

I'd have to agree with beaker on these TFF points, at least insofar that none of them were that bad, including the malfunctioning Captain's log.

But 'not that bad' is also my analysis of the film as a whole. It's not a cinematic atrocity, it's just below mediocre.

Some more:

-TMP: The infamous earth tone pajamas and footies/uniforms;
-TWOK: Kirk not using a pole to beat Khan unconscious;
-TSFS: Kruge's/Christopher Lloyd's obvious dental work when he screams, "Get out! Get out of there!"
-TVH: Where are the nuclear wessels?
-TFF: Sybok, totally.
-TUC: Chang quoting Shakespeare -- although it did engender the great McCoy line, "I'd give real money if he'd shut up!"
-GEN: Data singing the silly "Life Forms" song;
-FC: Cochrane's Jughead crown -- WTF?;
-INS: F. Murray Abrham's performance, one long audition for Space Salieri;
-NEM: Space dune buggies!

Nuff said.

Oh there are many. Too many actually. So I'll pick one from each movie.

TMP- Ilia walking around for no reason wearing no pants.

TWOK- Khan wearing a Starfleet symbol as a medallion on his bare chest.

TSFS- Finding Spock, which made the noble sacrifice in TWOK utterly pointless.

TVH- The giant probe needlessly almost destroying Earth in order to communicate with whales.

TFF- The fan dance.

TUC- Klingon blood being pink to avoid a higher movie rating.

GEN - Picard's wife not being Beverely Crusher.

FC - Troi's "drunk" scenes.

INS - The whole movie.

NEM - The whole movie.

I have to go with Scotty bumping his head being at the top of any list... Kirk falling off of El Capitan at the beginning of the same movie is pretty awful as well - "Mind if we drop in?" *groan* .. Actually, most of the issues I have with ST V, aside from the substandard effects, are the lame attempts at humor. Removing those would have helped the film immensely.

there's only one moment in Trek's humor that I can handle is the Cinderella part in ST6 by Chekov. It always put a smile on my face and it reminds me Chekov from TOS. other than that, trek humor falls flat every time. too bad !
