Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

So I have the TV on but I'm not really watching it, it segued from Twilight Zone to Perry Mason a while ago. I look up and I see an older woman in the witness chair...and I think "I know her, who is that?", then I realize she played The Keeper in The Cage. Mind you, the only times I've EVER seen her face, it had a throbbing latex prosthesis around it - and yet I was able to recognize Meg Wylie playing a woman her own age.

Wylie was born in 1917. In the sixties she often played characters somewhat older than she actually was.

Not sure if this counts, but there's an episode of The Shannara Chronicles series where characters have found a copy of TMP and are watching it so we see a scene from that movie where Kirk and Spock are talking. It's not really William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy acting in the show, but we do see them.

Watched the classic 60s thriller The Satan Bug this weekend, and hey look! There's Jimmy Doohan! He had a minor role as a detective on the team looking for the stolen virus. He had no dialog, and died dramatically after a few minutes. :(

Creature Features aired that movie a while ago - really enjoyed it.

An early police procedural movie The Naked City (1948) aired on Turner Classic Movies recently had two TOS guest stars.

The movie inspired a popular TV series a decade later, a semi-anthology drama that ran for five years. It was one of the shows that Gene Roddenberry cited in the TOS writers' bible as an example of the kind of grounded, believable character drama he wanted TOS to be.

I just watched an interesting episode today of Fantasy Island.

Star Trek's Lt Angela Martine from Balance of Terror, gets Khan to arrange a babysitter for her wild children. And Khan tricks Spock's mom and her daughter (not Michael Burnham) to do it.
