Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I imagine the dads got a thrill out of the cavegirls in When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth. ;)

Especially if they saw the uncensored version with the nude scenes, as opposed to the G-rated American cut, which was surely the version we saw at the drive-in as kids.

(Imagine my surprise when I caught the uncut version on TCM a few years back.)

The Valley Drive-In. I know that my family watched a couple of double bills there back in the day, although I can't remember what one's.

We saw lots of movies there growing up, including a triple bill of the first three Bond movies. We also went to the Mid-Way Drive-in in Kent, and the Duwamish and Fife drive-ins.

No Star Trek movies, though. Those didn't come along until later, after I headed off to college.

You must have lived down south, because I remember seeing Star Wars at a drive-in in Kenmore or Hwy 99 in Lynnwood and TMP at the John Danz in Bellevue.

I grew up down by Federal Way, although I'm pretty sure I also saw TMP in Bellevue. Pretty much my entire college SF club took a road trip from Bellingham to see TMP on opening night.

Waxing nostalgic for a minute: I saw TMP in Bellevue, Khan in Bellingham (which had more movie theaters of its own by then), TSFS at the Lewis & Clark theater near Sea-Tac, The Voyage Home in downtown Seattle (where I was working at the time), the next several films in NYC (after I moved away from the Pacific Northwest), and everything from Nemesis on here in Pennsylvania.

I can pretty much track the course of my adult life from where I first saw the newest Star Trek movie. :)

@Greg Cox
The Lewis and Clark.
That brings back memories.
My family would drive by that billboard on Hwy 99 whenever we went to my father's parents house in Burien.

Saw a lot of movies there: Doc Savage, Logan's Run, Fantastic Planet, Superman: The Movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Star Trek III . . . .

James Doohan, who apparently had family in the area, actually showed up at the Lewis & Clark theater (and bowling alley) for the premiere of the Trek movie, complete with a reception afterwards, organized by a local Star Trek fan club.

That was a great night!

Where in PA is this?

Not in PA. This would have been in Washington State, up by Sea-Tac Airport, back in '84. I didn't relocate to the East Coast until a few years later.

Alas, that theater (and combined bowling alley) is long gone, along with all of those drive-ins I frequented as a kid, back in the sixties and seventies. (The Mid-Way is now a Lowe's hardware story, I believe.)

Not actors, but possibly costumes.
I'm watching the 1960s Tony Randall/Marilyn Monroe movie "Let's Make Love" and during the number "My Heart Belongs To Daddy", I would swear the pullovers the male chorus are wearing are the same brown turtlenecks seen in both Star Trek pilots.

Pardon my digression, but there's a BUFFY episode where Willow seems to wear one of Zachary Smith's old uniforms.
