Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

^There's another Kung Fu with Diana Muldaur as a traveling Gypsy dancer. Might be a screen grab somewhere back in this thread, if I didn't lose it when I switched hosts.

William Shatner and James Doohan first worked together in the 1953-1954 Canadian TV series "Space Command". Dohann was a regular and Shatner a recurring Guest Star.

That seems pretty weird to me! Doohan and Shatner actually working together on a regular basis before Trek! And I've never heard of Space Command outside of the old Trek episodes before they'd invented either Starfleet Command or the Federation! good post though and thanks, Kerock!

Serving under Martin Milner in an area of Belgium that looks in no way like Southern California:

Having lived in Belgium and so cal I can honestly say....er.... so cal looks a lot like alien planets (that are not otherwise on a sound stage)....

I once searched for online photos of landscapes in the vicinity of the Korean War frontlines to see if they looked anything like the Malibu location used to shoot the M*A*S*H TV series. They actually weren't that different in terrain and vegetation. Not a perfect match, but not as far off as a lot of TV/film locations.

I had to laugh when I caught a Daniel Boone in the background just last week, I think, with scenes shot at Vasquez Rocks. Isn't he supposed to be in Kentucky?

I've never been to Belgium, but this definitely isn't how I'd picture it:

That's probably repurposed footage from another production, too...I doubt they gathered those tanks together for an establishing shot on a flailing TV series.

Clint Howard in an adorable Mexican General's uniform on The Virginian, this morning on Cozy.
Found a B&W still online:

This was the same year he was Balock. He was about 6 or 7.

Even the scenery is acting!!
I recall an episode of Mannix where he was supposed to be in Washington, DC. There were palm trees.
Then we have Jackie Chan's Rumble in the Bronx, with the Cascade Mountains in the background.
Aaaand a Captain Scarlet episode where they were manning a road block at the entrance to New York City (as if there was only one), with lush forests and tall generic mountains all around.

My dad, who served in Korea mentioned that. Though I think it was bit warmer in SoCal.
