Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Let's see...Henry Kissinger's on my TV screen right now.

1) Served under Nixon;
2) Nixon met Elvis;
3) Yvonne Craig was in an Elvis movie;
4) Yvonne Craig guest-starred on Trek.

Reminds me of something I once read in Games Magazine ages ago, a game of making puns out of people's married names, where you had to guess the pun name. One of them went something like: If Diana Prince married and divorced the builder of the Spruce Goose and then got remarried to Nixon's secretary of state, she'd be Wonder Hughes Kissinger now.

As a minor Wonder Woman reference. TMZ just got Linda Carter out on the streets of New York this past week.
And she still looks gorgeous.

This may have been mentioned in the thread before, but as another Wonder Woman reference: in the "New Adventures of Wonder Woman" TV movie that came before Lynda Carter's series, the villain was played by Ricardo Montalban.

The episode was called The Judas Goat and is a favourite of mine! Loved that show and just wish it had carried on for a full season at least! :wah:

Apropos of the current discussion, I might mention that Nicholas Hammond and Logan's Run regular Heather Menzies both played Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music, as did Charmian Carr, whose sister Shannon Farnon voiced Wonder Woman in Super Friends. #SixDegreesOfEverything

Just watched Mr. Blandings builds his Dream House on TCM. Ian Wolfe (Mr. Atoz, "All Our Yesterdays") plays the shyster real estate agent who takes city slicker Cary Grant to the cleaners by selling him a dilapidated wreck of a country house.

1) Henry Kissinger played himself on Dynasty, which starred Joan Collins
2) Joan Collins was a guest star on Star Trek ("The City on the Edge of Forever")

Though I like your version better. ;)

Plus Angela Cartwright from Lost in Space!

^ So that's where the idea for Green Acres came from? :)
Actually, Green Acres was a reboot of a radio series called Granby's Green Acres that ran for just 8 weeks in 1950. Characters were scrambled around a bit, a teenage daughter was deleted, and the trademark surrealist humor was added by Paul Henning. :cool:

There's a three-fer in the Schwarzenegger flick TOTAL RECALL, one from each of the first three Trek sequel series:

Ronny Cox from TNG
Marc Alaimo from DS9
Robert Picardo from VOY

You could just as well cite another Cox movie, RoboCop, which also had Kurtwood Smith (ST VI, VGR), Peter Weller (ENT, STID), Miguel Ferrer (ST III), Robert DoQui (DS9), and Ray Wise (VGR). RoboCop 2 brought back Weller and DoQui and also featured John Glover (DS9), Roger Aaron Brown (TMP), Gabriel Damon (TNG), Mark Rolston (TNG, ENT), Galyn Gorg (DS9), and Jeff McCarthy (TNG).

I just can't think of Ronny Cox without thinking of RoboCop, because it's the movie that redefined his whole career. At the time, his getting cast as the villain was seen as startling, because he'd always been typecast as a nice guy. But as soon as he played Dick Jones, he was forever after typecast as a villain, or at least a jerk. I think Cohaagen in Total Recall was his second infamous villain turn, solidifying the trend.

Ronny Cox was never in TOS, his only claim to Trek fame is Captain Jellico from TNG's "Chain of Command"

Ronny Cox was never in TOS. It was my own stupidity that posted a mention of his appearance with two other latter-day actors in TOTAL RECALL. I'm sorry. Please start a Ronny Cox thread if you want to discuss him. I don't need to give the mods any more grief than this has already caused.
