Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Ed Asner would have looked great as a mean old turtle head in TNG! With all his medals dripping off him as he walked across the Enterprise bridge with his limp...

It's not too late for Mr. Asner to appear in a Star Trek episode (or at least what CBS is calling "Star Trek" these days). He could be Michelle Yeoh's Lou Grant-ish boss...

I wonder why they never hired him, not even for a cameo.

The cost perhaps? Plus I think he'd have looked better as a TNG era Klingon rather than a TOS one! He appeared in two episodes of The Invaders and a classic Outer Limits with BarBara Luna and Michael Forrest!

Hey, I liked the old Outer Limits. My favorite was the one with the machine that made people evolve. I liked the idea, even if it's absurd.

He alos played a role in one of the "The Practice", as a judge who didn't like chatty lawyers.

Another example of an actor appearing on Mission: Impossible within a week of his Trek appearance: David Hurst was in this week's 50th anniversary episode of M:I, "The Test Case," which aired two days after "The Mark of Gideon". Paul Carr was also in the episode, FWIW.

Success comes in droves.

Jason Evers was on an episode of Mission:Impossible today that aired on a local station (CHCH) based in a city near Toronto, Hamilton.

Are there cases of two actors who played together in the same episode of TOS who also played together in the same episode of another series or movie?

Jill Ireland was in two episodes of 12 O'Clock High, on which Frank Overton was an almost-every-episode regular. I distinctly recall in one of those instances being disappointed that they didn't share a scene. I'm not sure about the other one offhand.
