TREK EXHIBIT and San Diego

Not sure where to post this, or if there is a special thead...so here goes..

I finally made it to the STAR TREK EXHIBIT here in my home town of San Diego. I went in a little weary because of the price of the tickets. 84$ for the four of us to get in. But after swallowing that bitter pill we had a thrilling time..

My four year old son's eyes, and mine I should add, were as wide open as they could be when we walked onto that bridge mock-up. And we were told by the attendant that the chair is the actual chair used on TOS. So we got to sit in the chair and it was a strange feeling knowing my ass was touching the same cushion touched by God himself; William Shatner.

The rest of the set was great. There is only one 'viewer' and they have it at scottys station because they were not sure where to put it. Then I pointed out to them that they each had a viewer. But no matter. The science station where Spock sits is cut off at on the left hand side for the exit...other than that, the set is great!

They had the transporter set of TNG and that was fun too. They also have the Guardian of Forever. You get to take two pictures with it. One normal then another where it looks like you are jumping out of the time vortex. Great fun for all!!!

The rest of the exhibit has ships and great wall mounted infos about the various shows and movies (yes even Nemesis is mentioned!)...

We spent an hour there and had a great time. I totally endorse this experience. If you can get to it while you are here at COMIC CON then do so!!!...fun for all!

San Diego is a great city. I have lived here all my life. I have traveled all over the world due to my Naval career and I can tell you; San Diego is the best place to live EVEN if the San Diego Padres suck...
