Trek collections

I was curious to see what people on this board collected. I'm currently trying to rebuild my comic book collection because a few years ago I was so broke that I was forced to part ways with a lot of my valuables. I also started recollecting books, action figures, games, vhs tapes, etc. If anyone has pictures, please post them!

Collecting :
The complete 80's/90's DC TOS comics
Every TOS novel
TOS action figures and toys (for my kids, really ;))

Collected :
TOS, TAS and TNG on DVD

Want to collect :
Props, costumes, etc from the TOS episodes and films to donate them to museums.

Let’s see…if we’re solely talking about STAR TREK, I have in the past collected comics, books, insignia, but the last few years I’ve been re-collecting some pieces I had as a kid. Mego action figures and play sets, Donmoor STMP uniform shirts…etc. I’ve also been collecting DST toy versions of props, and branching into collecting prop and costume replicas. The closer to 100% screen accurate the better. The current pride and joy of my STAR TREK collection is my completely screen accurate 1st and 2nd season STAR TREK: ORIGINAL SERIES Command uniform tunic.

The provenance on this one is off the charts. It was made by a gentleman who owns all of William Ware Theiss' fabric samples, patterns, templates and brass insignia and rank embroidery dies (he was also Bill Theiss’ costuming apprentice during Next Generation). I love this thing and it’s on the list of things to grab if the house ever catches fire. It’s also forever laid to rest the green/gold discussion. The answers is (somehow and it’s hard to fathom unless you see it in person, and even then it changes in different light)…both, but without question more GOLD than green.

So as a certified uniform nut it goes without saying that I’m really excited to start collecting Anovos’ STAR TREK uniform stuff. If I can get the pieces I want past appropriations (read wife), than hopefully I’ll eventually have a wardrobe full of TOS, and TWOK uniforms (which I’m told are coming).

I have a bunch of the AA/DST action figures. I'm so glad I don't have this compulsion to collect every character like a lot of collectors, because the way AA/DST delays release dates and starts making characters of a cast without finishing it would be even more frustrating. It was infuriating enough waiting like 18 months for them to release a decent Kirk figure.

I was so happy when it was released and I could be done with that company. I put up some pictures in my profile. I was smitten with the "Trials and Tribble-ations" Jadzia Dax. That's the one that got me started collecting. In addition to the AA/DST figures, I also have the Playmates Guinan and Knickerbocker Kirk because I love those characters and I think the companies who made them did a great job capturing the likenesses of Whoopi Goldberg and William Shatner.

All of TNG on DVD, an Enterprise D Christmas tree ornament, an autographed photo of Sir Patrick Stewart, and a United Federation of Planets flag. Not enough to call a collection.

Not collecting, really. Consuming is the better word, since I don't need to have everything, and I buy to use.

- DVDs
- novels
- comic books

I also still have the Playmates model of the ENTERPRISE D with lights and sounds from the early 90s. Got it as a kid for christmas, and somehow it survived all those movings of mine in the past twenty years. God, I love that model.

I have the following:
-ST09 Burger King glasses, including the life-size stand up display.
-The Original Series, The Animated Series, all 11 movies on DVD
-Most of the original TOS photo-novels from the 1970s
-I used to have all the TOS models and Enterprise-D. Those are long gone (the ex stole them)

Art Asylum/Diamond Select figures

Some books. Half of the books cannot even be described as literature, truly crap, but I keep coming back for more.

Have all the season dvd collections, sans Enterprise. I have no love for Russell Watson.

This is so true, I love all of the lit and I don't know why. I also collected the ST: CCG, comics, action figures, starship toys, prop toys, micro machine starships, and uniform insignia. I'll post some pictures once I get home!

I mainly collect Transformers (comics/books and some toys) and Star Wars (books and some toys).

Trek-wise, I collect some of the books, figures, and - like others it seems! - am building up a comic collection from the 80s/90s, mostly TNG and DS9.

Almost nothing. I do have every season of every Trek show on DVD. But I've just never been into collecting. Even the Trek novels I buy usually get donated to the library when I'm done.

Beautiful shirt!

There is no particular rhyme or reason to what i've collected over the years. I just buy what i like and can afford. Most of the vintage things i have were lucky finds at yard sales:

My latest purchase was an ebay find:

It's a mens large, so it's a tad big on me. But i love it anyway.

I love your collection, especialy your top shelf Mego collection!
I'm trying to piece mine back togeather again and while the reproduction Mego figures have been awesome I need to find a bridge playset again.

I also love the jacket. Was that a cast and crew item? Either way wear it in good health!

John

i have 3 of the 6 trek movie posters that were given to william shatner that hung in his office in paramount studios, i got them at the 2003 trek con in vegas and still look as new, autographs books and trading cards.

Thanks John!
I don't think the jacket is a crew jacket, but i could be wrong. It wasn't advertised as one anyway. I have another one, a much older one, that i bought at Star Trek The Experience back when it first opened. THAT one is really beautiful, with the original enterprise surrounded by the tholian web. *(its uber nerdy).

The Mego set was an amazing yard sale find. I bought it for $2~ i couldn't believe it. The Cheron figure wasn't in there, i found that figure at a different yard sale years later.

Until very recently i wasn't even aware there was a repro set out there. I'd like to fill in mine with the repro pieces.

And what i'd like most, is that original, domed lunchbox. THAT is a thing of beauty.

Here's mine I've moved house now so I'm going to collect more, now I've got a spare room I'm going to collect more hopefully

I love the Star Trek candy. I found Sulu and Kirk pez dispensers at a local antique mall. They are the shit.

These collections are looking really good. I'm in the process of moving so once I have everything together and on display I'll take a picture.
