Trek Books for Kindle

Where, exactly, do you see me arguing about a minority? This has been my whole point all along. See the bell curve argument I made before. That's what you're arguing here. Just because there are a few people willing to pay a ridiculous amount for something doesn't set set the GENERAL willing to pay amount no more than a minority of people only willing to pay a very small amount for something does.

The premise I have opposed all along is that the current price of e-books is "too much" and that people aren't willing to pay it, and as I've already clarified earlier, by "people" I don't mean two people, I mean the general average of the whole target audience. The people who fall in the MIDDLE of the bell curve, the majority.

I enjoy my Kindle, and find I enjoy the convenience of pushing a button to buy a book. If it costs a bit more, it's because I PUSHED A BUTTON. ON MY COUCH.

Have to agree 100% with that. It used to be the case that I was content to order a paper book, wait a week and then read it. Then I decided to download the Kindle ereader-purely for market research-and fell in love with the fact that if I wanted a book...

I could just have it!

No waiting. No shipping charges. Plus I could make the words in my book bigger so I can read when I'm tired or just woke up and I can make the page dark and the print light or the print dark and the page light...

And... and... and I can have my book, my way!

It's just a damn fine way to buy a book! That's all I'm sayin'.

Exactly. And so far, I don't think I've come across any books that cost more in e-form than it's regular paperback price. Hell, the Hardcovers I've looked at have actually been quite a bit cheaper than the physical book.

I would recommend anything by diane carey. Ive found her to be a great star trek tos writer. Best Destiny is a brilliant book - not sure if thats on kindle though. The star trek books used to be quite cheap but recently for some reason they've started to up the prices. Prob realised that the book are becoming popular. Otherwise the following TOS books are i feel a good read (yes im slowly making my way through the tos books available on kindle):

I like the kindle (have app on phone) as when on holiday it saves space & weight in the suitcase plus its also quite handy as you can carry it anywhere but yes there is nothing better than having a real book in hand and theres certain books i would only buy a paper or hardback copy of.

That's because you're looking at list price, not the regular price anybody with a B&N card or subscribed to the near-daily Borders coupons is paying but that the vendors aren't allowed to offer on ebooks.

I get discount coupons in my email from Borders. Applying one of those to a Star Trek book makes the eBook more expensive. So yes, Star Trek eBooks can be more expensive and usually are. Agency eBooks which S&S eBooks are, do not allow discounts of any kind. So when you see $7.99 for a Star trek eBook and Kobo has a discount code on offer, you cannot apply that to any S&S eBook. If you have a B&N discount card, that cannot be applied to any S&S eBook. So yes, Star Trek eBooks from S&S are more expensive. Also, just take a look at how silly the prices are for the individual SCE/CoE eBooks.

I know, that's why I said regular. As long as I'm not paying more than $7.99 for a paperback release I'm more that willing to buy in Ebook form.

If you were just planning to start the Vanguard series and hadn't already started, sure. From what I've read it would make a good prelude.

That being said, I've read the first five Vanguard books and haven't read any of the SCE books yet so it definitely isn't necessary.

1) Strictly speaking, it doesn't matter (though the Lovell and crew do show up again in Summon the Thunder). But if you have any interest in SCE as a whole (versus just the Vanguard story), you might want to consider picking up the What's Past omnibus, with DEW and five other stories, for a more reasonable price.

2) Like everything else by Wardilmore, it's an enjoyable read and their love of the material shines through. If you've liked their other books, you'll probably like DEW.

Go to the email again and move the cursor over any of the links and see if they're truly from Amazon.com or if it's a fake and has a Russian web address.

And there weren't any links in the message to click on. They only said to reply to it with one word: Yes. And then the new version will be delivered to the kindle.

Who knows how many points his blood pressure may rise, and I'd rather keep him around for a good many years yet to join in on other discussions not related to the publishing industry in any way shape or form.

My blood pressure doesn't rise just because S&S botches yet another eBook like they did with Vanguard Declassified. Yep, it's also a botched eBook. Didn't take too much to fix it. It wasn't nearly as bad as DTI was before I fixed DTI.

What I am wondering is that since the Kindle version of Strange New Worlds was fixed, does that mean that all versions of Strange New Worlds have been fixed at all eBook shops?

well I am going to get a nook color pretty soon and I found out that if I root it I can get the kindle app on it for free. so any trek books I might be missing on it I'll get on the kindle app. now does any one know if the nook color read digital comics from either marvel or dc.
