Well, we were overdue for one of these so here it is. I thought about making this month's challenge a tribute to Matt Jefferies, but I think that has already been done superlatively by certain members here, so we're going to try something completely different this time around.
Basically, I want you to take a classic car and turn it into a spaceship. Pick a car from earlier than, say, 1970 and rework it into some kind of spacegoing vehicle. It doesn't necessarily have to belong in the Trek universe. If you desperately want to start with something newer than 1970 then at least make it something distinctive. A Volkswagon Beetle I can live with but a Honda Accord just ain't gonna cut it.
How exactly you go about this transformation is up to you, but the end result should have recognizable characteristics in common with the car that inspired it. Twist it, bend it, stretch it, spread it out, turn it upside down, whatever works, but when people look at it, try to make sure thay can say, "Hey! That looks like Buck Rogers' '57 Chevy!"
As usual, one thread per person, please. Use "Classic Car Spaceship - '57 Chevy - Vektor" as the format for your thread title. All mediums from hand-drawn to 3D modeled are acceptable. In fact, I would encourage people to at least start with hand-drawn sketches since we haven't had much of that here in Trek Art lately. For those who are willing, we might even use their sketches as the basis for next month's challenge to have them modeled in 3D.
Any questions?
